Korea truly is one of the worst place to be a victim, they have the technology and advancement to be a great place but every single time you talk of a case happening there the victims are blamed, not taken seriously or just dismissed while perpetrator got it very easy, what's the point of a justice system if there's no justice ?

Please let me know what is right ty
@LunarEleven4 ай бұрын
Very good points. Difficult to be a woman or a member of any minority, too. But when the system is designed to ensure "justice" for those with power, and the powerful are the people who create and uphold the system, it's almost invincible. Social media may be the one hope, because those who do not have power individually have the strength of numbers. Social media gives the powerless majority a voice they never had before. It's crowdsourced power. Younger generations tend to reject unjust systems that previous generations just accepted. I believe there's hope they can really use that voice to force systemic change. This is virtually the first time in history that revolutions are possible without war 🤞🏻 we used to have to rise up and kill people to be heard, so at least social media has the potential to be as good as it is bad 😂

I'm sure this is an opinion that can be argued, but personally, I think every parent who has subjected their children to this cult should feel at least some kind of guilt, some remorse. They were of sound mind, I hope, before joining the cult, did they not consider how their decisions might impact their children? The decision that these parents made to join the cult is a senseless one, one devoid of thought and care for their children. In this case, I think those who suffered most tragically were the children, their subjection to the cult was never in any way within their control, these children had their futures, their dignity, and their humanity completely desecrated all because of the decisions of their parents.
@KerrieKruegner4 ай бұрын
I agree but there would be Grey areas involving spiritual beliefs of families and who judges this is a religion /this is a cult etc Thete is a lot wrong with some established religions where a child may be endangered attending their schools camps snd so on But yes it’s an interesting perspective and one that is gaining weight in other situs such as the parents of the mass shooter in America being charged for giving him unsafe access to the guninyheirhome It will be interesting to watch how this type of responsibility or lack there of! @tkak43 ай бұрын
cults bring people in slow and usually go for very vulnerable ones, even if the adults are sound minded, they were probably at a low in life and trying to find support from anywhere. That's where these people come in and take advantage by showing them hope and comfort. The parents trully believe that what they are doing is good for their kid and for the family's future
@kalpajha30022 ай бұрын
I totally agree with you. Some parents who were fully involved, following a cult probably were so skin deep into it that they were not aware what their children were being subjected to or had been violated. If some parents were made aware of it, they could not or would not do anything about it to protect their children either out of fear, punishment or shunned and ostracised. It's really so sad.
@painttedHyena1974Ай бұрын
I would agree, but only if the situation was that they knew how horrible it all was. If they heard rumours and still joined. Apologies for being a little mean here, but it's a bit cruel (and ignorant) to consider that they didn't think about how it might impact their children. It wasn't a senseless decision, you can only say that because you know the cruelties cults cause, which is s thing they only realise in hindsight. They were thinking of their family when joining, because all they thought it was, is a new way to have faith and/or find community and help during a hard time (because most cults go for vulnerable people, the poor, the homeless, the mentally ill, etc...). When these parents feel remorse, a lot of the time, it is of things they couldn't have known. These cults look and act normal, seem good and kind, a perfect thing to make community in, but they aren't. These people didn't join these cults knowingly and senselessly, they were tricked, manipulated and abused.

Usually cults prey on people who are vulnerable. The leaders are often predatory and unempathetic so the members are valued only for the use the leader has for them. These people aren't really different from serial killers, they just have a different strategy to use up people for their own purposes. They are also pretty good at figuring out who would be a good victim similar to how abusers will when romancing a partner. They don't start with the crazy either. They turn up the crazy slowly.

Use this comment to discuss the case in the replies: (Almost none of the comments are talking about the actual case, and it’s disheartening to see some not even acknowledge the horrible crimes mentioned in the video. ) Here’s some of my personal thoughts on the case. Cult related things are very messy and horrible. I do not dive very deep into the world of true crime beyond listening to this podcast. I started listening because I wanted to inform myself on different cases. I like to stay informed about what’s going on in the world around me, and listening to true crime can also inform me on victims that I would probably never hear about otherwise. I think that paying respect to the victims of a crime should be one of the top things when creating or interacting with the true crime genre. I understand people having to somewhat distance themselves from the crime so it doesn’t get too heavy. I understand that, I often have to separate the cases from myself so it doesn’t effect my mental health but I don’t think people realize how deaf tone they sound when discussing how ‘the video is just in time for…’or ‘glad this was posted I was getting bored’. Leaving these types of comments under these types of videos is really odd. I’m sure people don’t have bad intentions but discussing how you view the video where the topic is a horrible and often very violent crime where real people were often killed, mutilated or greatly injured, and/or tramatized as something like entertainment does not sit right with me. I only saw one other comment talking about this, and the replies. I left a reply there but I wanted to leave a main comment so more people would see it. This case is absolutely horrible and I knew it was going to be an especially gruesome case when I saw the tittle and thumbnail. Thinking about just the sheer amount of people that had to endure being in the cult and often not being able to get a job afterwords makes me feel sick. The crimes committed by that women were evil on another level that I can’t even imagine and my heart goes out to everyone affected by this case. Those are my thoughts on this case. I am not saying they are the correct thoughts, or what you should think, only what I took from it. Please feel free to use the replies as a space to actually discuss the case and not whatever is happening in the comments today. Edit: There are a lot more comments talking about the case now, but for people just watching the video when I commented this there was only one other comment I could find talking about the case.

Brother’s Home is just one of many institutions that were incentivized by the government to “clean up the streets” in the 80’s and adopt out homeless kids (they were paid per kid). So some of these institutions would kidnap random kids and adopt them out internationally. Please do make a video about Qandeel Baloch, so people can be aware of the fact that she was never granted justice. She was considered to be Pakistan's first social media influencer after her appearance in pakistan idol, and was vocal about the rights of women and her being a feminist which caused her to get a lot of criticism because of that. She was murdered in her parents' home by her brother in 2016, apparently because she brought "shame" to the family honour by being an influencer. There's also rumours that he did it to get money to buy drugs because of a mullah called Abdul Qawi payed him to murder her. Every single time her murder is mentioned here, her being "vulgur" and "sexual" is always mentioned to downplay her murder - because of that, many people (conservatives, mostly) in the country still don't want justice for her because they think it's fine to be honour killed if she was bringing shame to the family. Her brother was sentenced to imprisonment for life in 2019, but got released in 2022 because of the mother and is currently enjoying life in his parents' home, the same home he murdered his sister in.

5 reasons as to why I think cults are able to trick people: 1. Cult leaders are charismatic, and humans fall for the halo effect. 2. The adults were lost/desperate in their life and needed the answers. 3. Humans are a social species we evolved to be in small tight nit groups or communities. Our brains have not changed in the past 200,000 years. Our technology has but not our brains. The idea of abandoning modern society to return to an agrarian society or a society where you help your community grow through hard work is attractive. 4. Cult leaders overwork their cult, preventing them from getting good sleep. Sleep is important because a lack of sleep affects your performance and decision-making ability. 5. Lastly, cult leaders always focus on separating you from friends and family by convincing you that they are a distraction. Friends and family can slap some sense into you and keep you from making dumb decisions.

My Chinese zodiac is pig. Totally different from me; I don’t trust anyone till they prove themselves, even then nothing anyone does surprises me. But I do love food!

Im a dragon (-76) and I have zero intent on ruling the world. Im perfectly happy to be an obscure artist and home buddy, fame and money arent important at all. My dragon hubby is pretty much the same.

Chinese zodiac is a lot more complicated than that. They assign an animal to the year, month, day, and hour of your birth.
