The reality is, and if VR Chat has taught us anything, is that most people don't want to _be themselves_ in VR, and the problem with Horizon is that it seems tailored around the idea of creating your cartoon likeness, instead of letting you be anything you want. That reason alone is a big reason why a lot of people don't engage with it. I would like to see more alternatives to VRChat, but at the moment, it still feels like the best of its kind. I think the idea of blending real life work and metaverse will happen, but like you said, only once the hardware is more comfortable, smaller and frictionless.

In hindsight, it's kind of obvious that both the kind of people who would want to be anthropomorphic fox people and a disproportional amount of trans people would be among the early adopters of a platform that allows such freedom.

@yannickluecker3983 Yeah and person, I'm replying to used those kinds of people as an example of what people want. When I let normal people try out vrchat for their first time, they asked me why there were no normal characters and why is everything so gay. I still like vrchat, but I think it has its own community while Meta verse is for a group of people. That's my opinion.

Cloud gaming for vr makes sense because it doesnt already exist. They would absolutely make it available on other headsets, would be foolish for it to only be on a quest.

For me, the problems with horizons are you can’t design your own avatar. I want something like the spore editor. Also, I want some form of moderation/age restrictions so I can enjoy adult content without having to worry about underage people. Until then I don’t care about horizon I never use it

I bet Avalanche will have a huge effect on Horizon Central if and when that gets off the ground. That seems like a lot of processing power to tap into.

Nice but VR is not dead just not going anywhere. The Meta/Facebook burning through so far 45 billion should be a huge red flag. They put out a Quest 3s which has the same lenses as the Quest 2? Looks no better inside view then the Quest 2. Then what was $650 is now $499... how many YEARS has it been out? Yeah and price cut? Not even Halloween let along Christmas. Been here from the start and whats been happening over the last 4 years is not growth at all. Pico 5? If you saw a company burn up 45billion ..yeah you would stop. There trying to Apple.. HP, Steam? The only "better" VR headsets cost 700+ and yes better. Really the only place saying its better then ever.. is just Meta and those that brown nose hopping for some free hand outs which Meta gives.. The Quest 3s it maybe a tiny bit better then the Quest 3. Meta will not allow you to buy Quest 3 128. Oh you can by the Quest 3s 128/256. And we all know Storage has been so cheap yet Meta forces you to by what they say.. and the fans? Oh they bow down roll over..

Cloud gaming is very dangerous in my opinion, it can lead to a future were it becomes mandatory, and buying video games will be a thing of the past. Hopefully the FTC gets involved should that happen.

We're already in that future. I have over 1000 games across various platforms that i have paid for, but technically do not own.
