You've gotta try Redwirez mixIR! That has some serious options for IRs! You'd love it! Nothing wrong with NADIR! But I liked the Redwirez best coz I load up three IRs from Celestion! One with 57, 121 and one room mic with low mix! And it's killer!

You should look into the multi-band compressor trick for palm muting. It tames the extra bass from the palm mutes while leaving everything else intact.

Do you remember what pickups you used here? I just got a helix and followed this tutorial but mine just isn't getting the same amount of bite that yours is (even though I've bumped the 1k and amp presence higher than your suggestions in the video). I'm using a passive set of Sentient + Nazgul. I'm wondering if that might be what's holding me back. Thanks!
@jasem17674 жыл бұрын
Interesting - the Nazgul bridge pickup ordinarily has bite for days. It may be a string gauge difference or indeed one of many other possible variants in the signal chain.

@mrcoatsworth4293 жыл бұрын
If you wanna emulate some actual room ambience, you're right, putting after the IR would make more sense. But putting it before the IR is more like using a reverb pedal. You'd have that between the preamp und the power amp. So I'd just do what you think sounds better.

12:00 Is there a way to, instead of copying the settings you tweaked and liked, put those 2 guitar tracks on a Bus, and apply helix native only to that bus? So you tweak only there and avoid having to copy-paste and pan guitars. I've tried many approaches to do this, but Helix resolves that bus into a mono bus, so guitar pan is lost. If someone knows, please help :) PD: Im using Reaper as DAW.
@rhitosparsha2 жыл бұрын
While most blocks in Helix Native can take a Stereo signal, unfortunately, the Amp and IR blocks in Helix Native are Mono. So yes, it is possible to process the stereo guitar bus in a single instance of Helix Native, but you'd have to split the path, pan the signals in the path's Split and Merge points, and then add two Amp blocks with identical settings on each side. Depending on your signal chain, you might have to set Hardware Compatibility mode to OFF. Hope this helps!
