Hi Nick, great video and great sound as always, I managed to follow you with the HX Stomp by putting my Maxon OD808X in the effect loop to "save" a dsp block (adding a noise gate after the loop block). Thanks again for all your shares.

I’m gonna try this Tone live on my HX Stomp, by removing the IR ( sense I go through a power amp and 4x12) and I’ll see if I need the reverb. Killer stuff yet again Nick 🔥🔥🔥

Hi Nick! Love your content! Can you redo this with the stock cabs on the HX Stomp? Thanks in advance!

Probably not bud, dual Amps on the HX isn’t gonna work on account of the limited DSP compared to its big Helix brothers.

YOu are the best youtubers making presets. I love the fact that you are constantly pushing the envelope with different techniques. Although you do your dual amp tone in a much different way than I would(I use dual path/panned hard and make use of "dual mono" and stereo) the end result is excellent. And that is what I like about you. You find different ways to make the sound you hear in your head come to life. Best wishes, and continue to dominate the Helix World---Ben And your work with phasing in the Impulse world was incredible as well. Phasing is a huge issue with Metal guitar tone and you seem to have the best understanding of it.---Ben again

Great video. Eager to try it out. Can you be more specific about the IR. I have the Zilla IR Pack but it has the three iterations of the cabinet. Which one of the Zilla cab choices did you choose? Thanks
@SwBeyond3 жыл бұрын
I really liked this setting! At least until you removed the high shelf cut. I'm not a fan of having too much chime or flare in the top, and my A1.7D LTD is notoriously sharp at the highs. This is chunky and has a nice balance between edge and phat without adding flubber. I'd love a combination of the dual amp setting and a dual cab sim using the Helix built-in cab sims instead of IRs. (Gonna try it out myself.) Good stuff!
@davegraham96514 жыл бұрын
excellent tutorial mate, i banged in exactly that and sounds sick. do you have global eq set to standard or just off if you dont mind me asking?

I think it’s been off for awhile now but fair question. I think it’s off. Thanks for stopping by and I’m glad I was able to help.

So you can just add IRs and effects to the bottom input track and it affects the top input track???
@AndrewStonerock4 жыл бұрын
I use dual amps, but for a whole different purpose. I use one clean, one dirty and use snapshots to switch between them. Kind of like a real amp set up. I've played with two amps like this. It's a cool technique. I tend to play alt/NuMetal though, and I tend to switch channels a lot to drive certain points home. As always brostoieski, love the vids. Stay safe my dude.
@Cymbaline7134 жыл бұрын
I do that all the time too, except the amps aren't in parallel, they're in series, but only one is ever on at a time. The Archetype Clean is great for clean tones.

This tone (and all your tones) sound awesome with my passive pickups, but sound super hairy thought my active pickups (Fishman Fluence Steph Carpenter models). Any tips for how to tame this tone with active pickups? Thanks again for a great tutorial 👍
@NickHillMakesMusic4 жыл бұрын
Hmm play with the high shelf. I always play my PRS with Fishman Fluence moderns through my tones and haven’t noticed anything extreme at all. I wonder if those pickups are tuned to be a bit brighter dude to his use of low tunings
@KyleFox0074 жыл бұрын
@@NickHillMakesMusic Cool, thanks. I'll play around with it. Yeah, I have a feeling it's due to the custom voicings of these pickups combined with 7/8 strings and low tunings.

Hey Nick. If I subscribe to your patreon to get some of your patches, do they come with the ownhammer ir's you use or do I need to buy them separately? Thanks for everything you do!
@NickHillMakesMusic4 жыл бұрын
Hey man. I can’t give away the Ownhammer IR’s with my patches. It makes things a bit difficult but those guys work hard to produce these products and if I have them away, I’d basically be stealing from them. I’m sure you understand.

Hey, quick question. Running a dual amp in hx stomp. But, I'm getting a horrible frequency clash. Insane and Badonk, with stock cabs. How would you find the frequencies and correct them? Thanks.
@NickHillMakesMusic3 жыл бұрын
Hard to tell. I’d need more info. I don’t run dual amps often/ever. I prefer to play them independently. You could record one amp on a track and the other on an additional track and use some EQ tools in a DAW to see over lap or clash
