Congrats on the baby, Robbie! Thanks for all the content you've put out, its incredibly helpful to the beginners and even those who aren't new to the sport.

I do an offseason routine of taking everything >=9 speed out of my bag. Leopard, Leopard3, TL3, and Teebird give me 4 different stabilities and just focusing on those 4 discs is helping me be a lot more consistent in my form and I'm landing in the fairway a lot more often. Yes, I'm 30-50 shorter than with faster discs, , but being in the fairway a lot more means the upshots are a lot easier. I'll start adding faster discs back into my bag in March or so.

I like this! I tend to do something similar each winter and take stuff out that isn’t fully helping me (e.g., distance drivers). Past couple years it was stick with fairways and below for a while. This year I’m trying midranges and below, and so far so good! It’s kinda like when I tried a putter-only round for the first time - opening my eyes to what I can do with my midranges, helping me get to know them better and have better control (with the overall goal of adding distance with them that my fairways could more easily achieve).

I did this exact same thing this past fall and saw a good amount of improvement by learning to use fewer discs that fit my game and my shots
@daniellarrabee974121 сағат бұрын
I'm glad you talk about this subject specifically because it helps you hone in what can be done and that's only possible with fewer discs. Some of my best rounds consistent wise came from only bringing 3 or 4 discs and it was eye opening for sure!

I decided to make a winter bag. Paired down from 20-24 discs down to 16. While I’m not necessarily scoring better, it is allowing me to better select what I want to carry. I am still a firm believer that you need over, and under stable versions of putters, mids, fairways, and distance drivers.

Best thing I ever did for someone throwing under 300 is taking everything over a 7 speed out of my bag. However, play way better with just a Signal, Servo and and envy. So, I get it. And congrats on the baby! Happy new year brother

About a year or two ago I reduced my bag to 9 molds. The staples are Valkyrie, Caiman, Invader. The other discs are Heat, Volt, Cherry (sometimes this slot is filled by Hex, Mako3, Pathfinder, or Buzzz), Toro, and the newest addition being the Notion.

That Felon looks to be similar to my Cosmic Neutron Tesla... Grab that sucker, throw it RHBH OH (overhead) ... land it on the ground about 20ft out... and on a 1pm angle.... on a calm day big flat field... Soft throw you can nearly drop it at your feet... Hard throw you can stretch out to 30ft... (and if you have a cosmic Neutron Tesla... Yeet that sucker the same way too... Go-On... you know your curious now...

I still carry a shoulder (messenger) style bag that only holds 14 discs. That is the way I prefer it. I like to run light and fast on the course because quite often I play 36 holes in a day on weekends so a heavy bag just tires you. I carry a couple of distance drivers and a couple of putters…the remainder is an array of fairway,mid and approach stuff that will cover 90% of what most folks bags will. I almost never find myself wanting. Almost… but not enough to carry a larger bag.

Proton Atom on forehand. @10:26 10:55 I'd disk up to a Proton Servo and do a forehand spike hyzer 11:02 Neutron Deflector forehand flat as possible and trust the disk to hyzer then get pushed down by the wind. 11:28 Fission Tesla forehand slight hyzer to flip up. 12:41 Neutron Time Lapse forehand very slight hyzer

Think it’s so important to understand how all our discs operate in all conditions. I think we should understand how even our understable discs operate in a headwind and what happens when we throw it with less power or more hzyer etc etc. Do that process with all your discs in all conditions. You might learn a certain disc can do things that could be useful in situations you didn’t anticipate. So maybe the conventual wisdom might not be the best choice for your situation. Maybe you do throw a detour into a headwind because you need a shot shape that the detour can do in a headwind.

194ft probably going with a Fireball forehand, 300 going Fission Photon forehand on the baseball field shot. Into a headwind I might change to a more stable Photon. Great video, a lot to think about when I consider your points as it pertains to my bag. Sometimes I keep overlap just because a disc is fun to throw or I like the looks of it. 😊

@10:34, I'm throwing my proxy, rhbh turnover. With the wind changes, headwind, Detour, with the right to left, still the detour, both still rhbh turnover. For the 300ft shot, I'd switch to the Archer rhbh turnover.
