Bregman is going to be looking for at least 5 yrs, will be 31 when season starts. Even if he plays 2nd, unless you can trade Story's contract, that means Mayer and Campbell are blocked for at least 4yrs.

It's only shocking if something happens. I don't believe any of these players are coming to Boston. I do believe they must replace Devers at third and get another solid reliever and starter. Devers to DH sign a good vet at third or put one of the kids there (no Bregman ). Need a strong right handed bat maybe two.

You can't forget that if you add these guys, you are going to have to lose some guys as well. Just off the top of my head, Kutter should be gone...I think he makes $7 million. You are going to try like hell to get rid of Yoshida, but will probably have to pay half of his salary to get anyone to bite, but you get some relieve there as well. So, the point is...there is nothing holding the Red Sox back from doing this except they don't like to spend money. It would be nice, but it would a seismic shift in philosophy. Not sure Henry has the guts to do that.

You guys keep saying the Sox dont like spending money... YES they do lol ... we spent the last few years rebuilding the teams propsects thats why we are one of the top 100 prospect teams.. anyone with a brain wouldnt be spending crazy money while rebuilding.. when you are rebuilding you try to spend the least amount as you can so you can splurge when your prospects are ready thus giving you talented rookies with a series run type team.. but any person that says the redsox dont like spending... you look stupid...historically were one of the highest dollar spending teams in all of baseball..we just went smart and did some budgeting when we were establishing the prospect pool the last few years.. I expect some serious spending in the next few off seasons starting with this one..
