The Penguins Clothbound Classic editions are gorgeous! The Dead of Winter sounds so good. And also the Cat who Taught Zen although I haven't read any graphic novels in my life.

I read A Magic Steeped in Poison last year. It is YA and it’s all right. The pacing was a bit slow for me, but it wasn’t terrible. The beautiful cover and synopsis was what got me to pick it up and I am interested in picking up the second book.

I actually made a refilming of the curious case of the dog in the night time for a school project. Without spoiling we made the main character actually a detective and his pet rat is 'detective Wratt' we got top marks for it. But yes its not crazy but it was the best one of the four I read for techers class that year (also because we did something so fun with it)

Love the Jezebel cover and it reminds me. A novella I'm constantly begging people to give a try is "Blood, Water, Paint". It's a historical fiction but also a retelling. It's the story of Artemisia Gentileschi the renaissance painter (a fave of mine which is what drew me to it in the first place) and her reflecting on the stories her mother told her of biblical women, how she imagines them, and the purpose and parts of the narratives she captures in her paintings. at the same time it is a story of her journey as a painter and the crimes that were committed against her (trigger warning for rape) and the price /she/ paid for THEM. Magic steeped in Poison is YA, btu I admit I'm tentatively curious about it. Would love to hear your thoughts if you get to it. A Stroke of the Pen might be one of the most lovely covers I've seen in a while!!

I do love a good audiobook actually and sometimes a good match between a voice/accent and a book can give it a new dimension.
