Use some orange oil on the bench and leave it outside for a little bit. The orange oil should help seep into the grains of the wood and kill the smell of the cat urine. You can even add some drops of tea tree oil as well. It kills the bacteria that caused the smell. Just let it sit out for a little while after.

If you want to darken the basket just a little, you can buy Waverly antiquing wax at Walmart and water it down as dark or light as you want it. Then just use a rag to rub it on the basket - works like a charm. I've done it to several of my baskets that have ended up lighter than I like after I cleaned them. Love your videos and hauls!

The mug and soufflé cups are actually restaurant wear. Being a waitress, we called them a monkey dish. We served soup, gravy and dressing on the side with these. Great finds!

Hi Genevieve! I just think you have the best personality ever...I have to say though that I miss it when you did more decorating for the seasons rather than all the antique hauls. When I started watching a while back you had just purged a bunch of stuff and said it was all making you to stressed and anxious. If I remember right anyway...I loved your style from last fall and thought it was a fresh breath of air. Anyway, you do you girl...I love you either way. I am just missing the decorating and hope you do a lot for Christmas!

Great video Genevieve! All that junk ….errrrr antiques, I’m so here for it! Love the basket. I didn’t see the beauty in it when you found it but when you were showing it all cleaned up, it is so beautiful! BTW….If by chance you wanted to use the bench inside just spray the bench with a couple of coats of shellac it’ll seal everything up. That’s an old furniture hack when doing a flip if something smells like that we just seal it up with spray shellac if the smell doesn’t come out. Great haul, love your videos. Great haul! I love the basket but when you first saw it I thought to myself she is going to get that basket. Then, I said to myself that thing is filthy and will need a good cleaning. I think the patina was dirt Genevieve! 😂 I love the way it looks now so clean and beautiful. That also is a great bench but I am with you it will have to decorate the front porch. I hope the noise has stopped now. 😊❤😊😉

What a fantastic shop! I have used some of those enzymatic products for animal smells, you can get them online or at pet shops. Read reviews and choose one for cat urine. Those products do work well and just might help with the odor. Loved all your finds. I love to hear your chunky dishes clang together, that is such a cool sound.

You can try a mixture of baking soda and water to darken the basket. Jamie at Bored or Bananas has a tutorial for it. I'd try a water and vinegar solution on the bench and lots of sunshine!

I died at your reaction over the saw noise because if that ain’t me! 😂 I’m usually screaming profanity’s because everyone wants to mow or remodel their home as soon I hit record! Lol. Try 50/50 water and white vinegar and wipe down the bench. Idk how easy it’ll be on a raw wood piece but it worked for our coffee table that had the same issue.

I make baskets, I use and love Weaver's Basket Spray, keeps it nice and looks fabulous, do not use wax. My favorite color is the walnut stain spray.

Hey Gen, put some wood oil on your basket it will keep it from cracking, and darken it a bit.

Just before you picked up that beautiful wooden paddle that you didn't get, there was a white metal basket that I kept telling you to get. Evidently you didn't hear me. I thought it would have looked beautiful with a Christmas tree in it. I wish me had a place like that around here. Love the bench.

Oh sweet mercy...that antique store was amazing!! Love the vintage lace tablecloth....and it would be lovely styled on the end of a bed as well. Also, I have antiqued waxxed many a vintage basket and it works so well. 😉

My mother had one like that (hand crocheted, of course), and used it on her dining table OVER a solid red tablecloth. It was so pretty to see the red peeping thru, plus the contrast really showed the crocheted design.

At the major pet stores they sell a cat urine remover. You can spray the bench with that a couple of times. Should wipe that urine away.

Clorox makes a pet urine remover. I bought my spray bottle of it at my Kroger grocery store in the cleaning section. It is called "Clorox Urine Remover For Stains & Odors". 32 ounce bottle. Try it on your bench.

The patina on the basket was dirt! Ha, Noise was barely noticeable. Loved the old rusty bell, I would’ve picked that up! Good haul!

I finally found my first english ironstone chunky all white butterpat in an antique shop at the beach here in Oregon....took me forever to find one...so keep looking I'm sure you will eventually find one soon! Great video! Thank you for sharing. 😊🍂🍁

I almost spit my coffee out when you called that place an amusement park!!! On point! I don't think that little white plate was a butter pat plate, it's a little too big, and it kind of looked like it had an indent in the middle like a saucer for a childs tea set. Those other two little bowls you looked at one was white and homer Laughlan and the other was cream are restaurant ware. They were the little bowls for a cup of soup or sides like a vegetable. My ironstone set has those bowls, I only have a few the rest must have gotten broken. I think the reason you are having a harder time finding butter pats in ironstone is because butter pat plate and bone plates were added to fancier sets of dishes. All those extra pieces just like fancy silverware has more pieces. Ironstone was the workhorse of the dish world, heavier and more suited for diners and homes where they were used daily. I have some gorgeous fancy china dishes and they have matching butter pats. This haul was so much fun!! I think I need you as my personal shopper. There isn't all that cool stuff in Wyoming. Put some mineral oil on a brush and brush the basket with it. That will darken it.

You have some great finds today. I do not care for outdoor flea markets because this stuff is left outside no matter the weather and I cannot handle the filth that accumulates on their stuff. BUT... I love the kaleidoscope of different items you can find...if you are willing to dig for them. So I guess we have to choose our battles if we want to find that one item we are hunting for. LOL It's the hunt that is so fun !!!

Leave the bench out in the hot sun. I bought a cat smelling bench a few years ago, let it bake in the sun after washing it and It is just fine now. It did take about 3 months but no more smell.
