Hey everyone! Welcome to my channel and welcome back to returning viewers! I am so grateful you're here :) this is my first ever video available in closed caption too!
In this video, I am creating the largest radial swipe I have ever done or seen anyone do. I'm sure there are people who've done them this big, 16" diameter, but I've not seen it. This is done with my no housepaint bloom recipe and the pillow and bloom swipe colors are all mixed with my pouring medium of 1 part gloss gel( I'm currently using Sax brand from Amazon and love it!) to 4 parts American Floetrol by Flood. I have been adding about 2 tablespoons of extra heavy gloss gel as well because I like the body it gives my paint mixtures and I can thin as needed yet have plenty of thickness for pigments. The pillow was a custom mix of Artist Loft violet and metallic blue with Arteza pearl royal purple to make a gorgeous periwinkle shade(or cornflower, I don't know if there's a difference lol). My bloom colors were Amsterdam pthalo blue and green mixed to make a deep turquoise, Amsterdam reflex rose and blue violet. My pigments: Polycolor from Stonecoat Countertops pearl red and green, This little piggy seaglass and Athena, Pearlx reflex purple. My cell activator is 1 part paint to 3 parts Aussie floetrol, the tube paint is Amsterdam pearl violet. I got my pillow a little too thin on this swipe which I initially thought was perfect. I like a thinner pillow on large pieces but too thin and you lose more of your design than you expect. Note to self: remember this next time lol.
A radial swipe of this size is more challenging than I expected. I really thought my cell activator would go further with a large amount on a larger palette knife but NOPE. I also think a thicker ca would have been better on this no housepaint recipe. I have better luck with that. Insert another note to self here...
My canvas is a 16" round stretched canvas from Hobby Lobby. I find them very affordable and good quality but I highly recommend examining anything you buy from there very closely before you bring it to the register to purchase. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten home and discovered I bought something someone else used and returned. Apparently they arent real meticulous about the stuff they shove back on the shelf. I find pearlx pigments very often have been opened and used or spilled yet sold as new. I've returned at least a third of every one I've bought. No seal, no buy. I've even bought a resin kit there only to discover it was half gone! I never run into this issue at Michael's, just saying.
So this paint spinner is the big 20 incher I've had a while and I'm still using it for bigger pieces for some crazy reason. I built a new larger one but I can't fit it in my paint corral and spin it. I know, crazy right?! I need a wider table before I upgrade my paint corral. And a more sturdy one than this old folding one. Someday....

Pretty much everything I create is for sale unless I say it's a commission, sold already or didn't dry well enough to be sellable. I won't sell any painting that isn't perfect. I can do direct sales through invoice with Square. If you see something you love and would like to own, either email me at maineskueez@gmail.com or message me through facebook. We will discuss. Same goes for commission requests. I do NOT accept sales using direct payment apps like CashApp, Venmo or Zelle nor to I have a paypal account. I have no intention of using any form of payment or transaction app that doesn't provide buyer and seller protection. I respect your privacy and financial security. I also don't wish to leave myself open to scammers. You can, however, make your purchase through Makersplace and pay with your PayPal. Those are the rules and I don't flex them for anyone. If you live locally(In the Las Vegas metro area) or are visiting the area, you are welcome to make an appointment to view pieces in person. In a situation like that I prefer transactions through my Square account so that you and I have a secure experience, even if paying with cash. I've been around long enough to know what people are capable of and I can't do the "trust me" thing, nothing personal.
Thank you for watching! I love that you are here and enjoying my content. If you have questions, reach out to me! I always respond in a timely manner.
