huge results switching out metal detector coils working the iron at a cellar hole

Cellar hole metal detecting with the Fisher F19 and different coils gets different results. We went to this big old foundation out in the woods to do some digging and see what we could find with the metal detectors. Using the 11 inch, 10 inch and 5 inch coil between the two machines it was a lot of fun to see what the different setups did. we were looking for any non ferrous targets in the iron bed which is common at cellar holes. The spot was settled back in the colonial 1700s days , lived on through all the 1800s and burnt down in the early 1900s. So with that history there is plenty of stuff buried in the ground to be dug up and found.

That comb looked like a hair comb, or scoop, for a little girls hair.😺. At 12:23, that iron piece with the hook on one end looks like the arm to hang a cooking pot/tea kettle over a fireplace fire. Swing over the fire to cook, swing back to stir, and so on. Good stuff!

I found it amazing how many more relics came out of a small patch of ground that has been hit so many times. It goes to show how cleaning the site and using different coils is so very effective, well done my friends that was a wonderful hunt. I like the glass bottle stopper but my favourite find was the square button, that's the first I've seen dug before. Lovely to see you out detecting again NinJen, that wheel was so caught up but it's a great relic to find sweetheart. Just purchased an F19, it is missing the knurled knob and bolt that hold the detector coil. Can I use a regular metal bolt, or does it have to be plastic? Waiting for Fisher to get back to me.

It's quite possible that that last item was an old whisk broom, similar to what a barber would have brushed hair off your shoulder area.

Yay! A Ninjen sighting! Good to see you Jen! I hope you are doing well! Great video! The small coils do work wonders on them target rich environment. Granted I’m not using a Fisher, but I do run a smaller coil at my relic patch here a lot. I’ve been exploring looking for other sites, but when we finally get some moisture in this cement we call dirt here, I’ll be running the small coil again at the relic patch. Your green bottle stopper could be from a Pulmar’s perfume bottle , they are known for their emerald green bottles.....Larkin was also a company that used that green for some of their bottles ...but I lean toward Pulmar...

I found a square button very similar. It seems to have an Asian symbol or letter on it. I found it in North Carolina 1880s to 1950s

Oh wow!!!! I think I need to switch coils. Mine is old & scratched up pretty bad. I don’t know which one to switch to though. How do u figure out which one to switch to?? I have a Garrett, can I use coils on my Garrett that are made by other manufacturers?? I’m assuming I can since the coils are all basically the same, but I really have no idea!! Lol!! It’s amazing to see this video and the differences in the coils!!! 😲 Very very cool experiment and video!!!!!

Garrett 5*8 is good around cellar holes where there are lots of iron nails. There is a sniper coil for the at series for really picking in between iron.
