I went to Texas while visiting some friends and decided to do some kayak fishing for blue catfish! I'm sure glad I did! The most monstrous catfish of my life!

Great fish. I grew up on Texoma. In that area most people agree the smaller light colored cats are white cats (Mississippi whites) there back even has a more visible arch than blues. They are good eating.

@@AntiChrist581 the best bait for blues anytime of the year is always gonna be gizzard shad. But I'll drive any distance to fish any lake in Texas and have fished all over. But good blue lakes in Texas are about almost any really good size body of water. If you're trying to catch a trophy blue I'd stick to Texoma, Tawakoni, Livingston, Falcon, you really can't go wrong at any lake here.

U should come down to north Carolina and fish where the nc State record blue was caught 117 lb blue cat caught at "lake Gaston". Not only one but 2 state records caught in one day

Kevin Curbow just depends on what you want to do with it. It's a little heavy for most channel cat applications but will work. Great for all blue cats and flatheads.

River Certified I typically fish with live bluegill in the 3-5” range with 2oz lead in lakes and small rivers. Usually into 10-15 lb fish on average, mostly channels, the MH works pretty good for most of my situations but sometimes I would like to fish some larger baits

Kevin Curbow sounds to me like the heavy action of either length will be a great addition to the MHs you already have. The 9'6" is great for float fishing. The extra length really helps with hooks sets.

I think Taco Johns only exists in Iowa any more. We have one here in Carroll and I know one in Grimes where our Oldest Daughter and family live. They vanished in Illinois a few years ago. Of course so did most of the Hardees's as well. So every now and then we're able to get it when we go to Sioux City or a couple others along 20. It's like a fast food treasure hunt anymore.
