I’ve been saying chapter 4 will be in the Holiday manor since the Noelle image. You know what that image of her is hinting at? Remember the Spamton Sweepstakes page about the ice palace maze that you could only get through with a party member that knows the way? Doesn’t that sound weirdly similar to “a messy garage filled with Christmas decorations, and the only person who could be reasonably expected to find anything in that mess, who also holds a flashlight, a tool designed for finding things in the dark?” if it was turned into a dark world? And, since every dark world seems to combine a physical space with an abstract medium, such as the unused classroom with board games, the library computer lab with computer/internet culture, and the Dreemurr house with TV, then Noelle’s Christmas-themed house mixed with a game we know she HAS (Dragon Blazers) would make for a perfect combination that lead to the exact situation from the Sweepstakes. If that is the case, it also means there’s a way to avoid having Noelle join the party, letting you get lost in the maze and encounter a hidden door that is locked, and if the description of the game is anything to go by, the key won’t be in the dark world, but will instead by found in the light world between chapter 3 and 4 (or perhaps in the chapter 3 dark world)

@ThisIsAHandle-xz5yo Could be, but tbh I think it’ll be possible to do either way. If I had to guess though, doing snowgrave will FORCE you to do it without her, similar to how you’re forced to get Spamton’s shadow crystal in that route because you need to defeat him. Other than that, my only other guess is that it’s where the egg room in chapter 4 will be, since those are always in locations that involve getting lost between loading zones, which is quite similar to taking all the paths in a maze until one just happens to bring you to the right spot. If that’s the case, it’s actually more likely that doing the snowgrave route will PREVENT you from doing it, as you can’t get the egg in chapter 2 on that route. This could be explained by Noelle perhaps going on ahead of you and leaving a trail that marks the correct path, or opening some shortcuts like in snowgrave.

5:46 nyo yo yo is meant to be a haughty and mischievous laugh. Laughs like that are common in 1990s anime. Usually a silly or high class villain would laugh like that. A lot of tobys humor is influenced by 1990s and 2000s anime. Id recommend watching a season of cardcaptor sakura if u havent to understand the vibe more.

I haven't seen anyone comment on the japanese translation of the "moon" dialogue yet, so i HAVE to say something about it because it is BUCK wild. The japanese text is: ねえ…　”月が　きれいですね” . Roughly speaking, I'd translate it as "Say... the moon is beautiful, isn't it." i'm reasonably sure this is a reference to a famous, perhaps apocryphal, story about the author Natsume Soseki, who, supposedly, argued for this phrase as a translation of the english phrase "I love you" during one of his lectures-- if i recall correctly, his argument was something to the effect that a more literal translation would come off as too direct and therefore would sound unnatural if spoken by a japanese person. (I do not think most modern japanese speakers would strictly *agree* with this argument-- perhaps it would have been more accurate during Soseki's time-- but nevertheless, it is a well-known anecdote.) so i'm kind of losing my mind a little bit, both over this translation choice AND over toby's choice to show us this specific line of all the lines he could have shown us. part of me wonders whether this is a gag specifically for the newsletter, or if the line really will be translated this way in the final game. (realistically, the odds that it's *just* a gag seem low, but my mind can't help but go there regardless.) (also, as a final note, I'm unsure as to what the quotation marks are doing in the japanese text, but toby uses quotation marks for comedic effect all the time, so for the time being, and for my own sanity, i'm just going to assume it's something like that.)

Seam literally tells us how to pronounce their name: like "Shawn" with an "m." It was a very suspicious moment since the party simply hears Seam's voice and thus the pronunciation of their name, so the line was solely for the player's benefit. Meaning that Seam has some awareness of the player and the fact the player reads words instead of hears them cause the game has no voice acting
