By the power invested in me I give you the honorary title of Jester, along with Jester's Privilege, which allows you to say whatever you wish and face no repercussions. Basil's death is cut short here. An aide was able to cut his belt and release him from the deer, and then seeing a guy with a knife near him, Basil was in such a panic that he ordered the person who saved him from the deer executed. Then he got a fever and died a few days later. Depending on your framing, it's arguably funnier.

Real explanation for the figs joke: Crispypuss just saw a donkey eating figs, a human food, and said it should also drink a human drink. It's the equivalent of seeing a dog eat meat from the kitchen counter and saying "give it the fries too". Historians just love to overthink everything and came up with the Dionysus explanation.

There was the story of the man who was killed by his wife, but it a very strange way. Mr Cermak was accused by his wife of having an affair (he wasn't, he had an old friend from school who happened to be female, and he was NOT porking her!) and he was a bit offended, so he left to go to pub. Mrs Cermak, thinking he was going to his "mistress" threw herself off the balcony of the apartment they were living in. And hit Mr Cermak. He died of a broken neck, she was relatively unharmed. Was it justice? Probably not. Because later proof was found that he hadn't been cheating (unless you could count "platonic affairs").
