All blackpool has to do, forget redevelopment, is bring back how it was, how it used to be, bring back the shows, reopen the bars and clubs, people need enjoyment after a working week. Hotels, B & Bs, lower your prices...the people will flock in..we need it back.

I love blackpool..blackpool was a really ace place on a Saturday night for us out of town visitors, everyplace was buzzing, used to get a decent 50 pound a night hotel in the town and visit all the bars, start in chaplins, singer in the north pier merrie england and finish in ma Kelly's north or soul suite. Everybody was out in their fineries. Now hotels are so overpriced, pubs/bars are either half empty or shut. Atmosphere has gone, £200 plus cannot be justified for a dead, empty night out in a run down hotel. Ok for a daytrip on a Saturday afternoon but otherwise everything else has been taken away, miss my nights in blackpool. Bring old blackpool back..

Yes. I got married at the old registry office on South King Street and I remember that area around the back of the bus station being quite vibrant, too. There was the Hop Inn and a cool little tiki type bar where we'd go on a Friday night. Years ago there was the Indoor market, the In-Book Exchange and Sandy's Sinfonia record shop, the Wheatsheaf, Grosvenor and Ramsden Arms pubs, the original Flamingo night club and actual houses where people lived. All parts of the real Blackpool...all gone now, replaced by these giant grey, faceless edifices with no life in them... government buildings and hotel chains. They say this is "regeneration" but it's really the town dying, street by street. I'm glad I'm leaving again next year because I can't stand to watch the place disappearing before our eyes.

Shame they seem to be doing away with many of the larger shopping units these days I guess there just isn't enough big companies to buy or rent them anymore now we're in the on line shopping age, Amazon etc, have a lot to answer for, but I guess peoples shopping habits are just changing these days.

All those shops that are boarded up it's because the rents are too high to keep them open, so you can blame the council for putting up the rates and rents, to buy a shop on the sea front would cost 100's of thousands to buy.

You’ve got to remember points mean prizes, the less car parking and the more cycle bay the higher the rating is given. You’re probably going to find their cycle bays are inside the building.

"Wot no car park" remember Steve architects design to impress themselves and no for practicality, We have The Council House in Bristol(but an idiot in red trousers re-named it City Hall in 2012) This building is large and impressive and in a class of its own and now G2 listed, Foundation stone laid in 1935 main structure finished in 1939 and completed in 1952 and officially open in 1956 by Queen Elizabeth(the evil man with the little moustache got in the way and that's why it took so long). Then the question was asked, Where are the staff going to park, this was the main place so a lot of the staff would of had a cars, all they did was call some of the buildings behind slums just enough for a car park and knocked them down, (The story of a new car dealership nearly without a parts department I'll leave for another day) The guy with the problem probably had drugedupitist⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
