Semi-automatic firearms were legal in New Zealand for decades. Properly vetted firearm license holders can be trusted to safely use semi-automatic rifles. Unfortunately the New Zealand police cannot be trusted to properly vet people.

The NZ Police and Adern and her sycophants alienated thousands of responsible firearms owners, hunters and sports shooting clubs and their families. In doing so there exists open wounds between innocent citizens vs police government and mainstteam media which is extremely sad. I hope the current legal investigation will heal the broken trust as well as create a means of punishing the liars and extremists who denigrated and hurt so many good citizens, including quality of life.

Yes and the gun shop owner who flagged Tarrant trying to purchase 2,000 rounds to the police. There were too many reported incidents the police chose to ignore, leaving many believing the whole thing was a psyop to disarm NZ as per WEF ideology.

When I was moving to NZ, They told me I would have to fly a family member over to be interviewed , Plus If I remember correctly someone of stature that I had known for two years in New Zealand. Plus an inspection of my Safe Storage etc etc... So how exactly did he get a license? Sadly I never was approved to buy the 280 acres of River frontage , So never got to move there... Still think your country is beautiful... Your politicians on the other hand.

What surprised me the most was the gun club he belonged to spoke with police as to his unsuitability to own firearms due to his rascist views, ie islamphobia. Police ignored such information weeks prior to the attack. Another cock up by Chch police.

When this incident happened 2 live vids were spreading, the shooter vid where nothing seemed real bullets disappearing in mid air and people on the street not reacting to this masked man with cam on his body and a machine gun walking to the Mosque. 2nd one was a live vid of Muslims mocking up shootings with fake blood, people lying on floor etc. They banned both to cover up the fake massacre. I dont know how they do ot must be pre-recording. The 9 news Australian channel broadcast the incident but had a date of 14th March instead of 15th- prerecorded. I have a photo from the TV if anyone wants to see it. Also the vehicle used in the shooting was different to the one parked when he was arrested. Sorry but the whole incident was orchestrated, find out who!!

NZ gun laws are so illogical. If you have a rifle or a shotgun, you can use it wherever you have permission and within any laws. If you own a pistol, you can only shoot it at a club. Why? Either you’re trustworthy enough to own a pistol or you aren’t. I can’t really see why they control where you can shoot it. If you own 300 acres, what harm would come from shooting targets with a pistol in the middle of it? None I can see. Also, just how did the government manage to come up with a whole new suite of legislation in literally less than a month?! They’ve never done that ever with anything. That new law was already in a drawer waiting if you ask me.

I believe we a compromise that will work for everybody. You get your semi automatics back but police don’t need warrant to search your houses or your vehicles or your person at any time. Your liberties public safety sounds fair.

What would this achieve? If the person is fit and proper, there is no reason to have warrantless searches. That goes without mentioning that it violates the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act 1990 Section 21 (Unreasonable search and seizure).

@@QuickStessi it’s a right would have to give up to protect the majority as one bad day can lead to tragedy or instead of warrant less search mandatory six month psycho evaluations failure to go to one of those automatic seizure and suspension of license until psychological evaluation is done

@@reganmaconaghie2612 Who is paying for the psycho evaluations? 600K mandatory evaluations a year would put a massive strain on the system that I believe probably can't be met. I believe endorsement holders already have yearly check ups by Police.

The government are the ones putting regulations in place that inhibit the citizens, therefore the government should spend taxes on it. You expect me, a law-abiding citizen who pays taxes, to have to pay more taxes because of regulations you want in place.
