True Story We had been married nearly 3 years and were expecting our 1st first baby when this topic came up in conversation. I had been advised by my doctor to decide if the baby would be circumcised to advise the pediatrician in advance of delivery. I brought it up to my husband, who was completely abashed at the very thought of circumcising our baby. I was shocked at his position, being he was circumcised, He laughed and told me he WAS NOT. I laughed told him he was crazy. He laughed and told me I was crazy. I laughed and reminded him I was a nurse and Damn Well knew the difference . Long - story - short , he is NOT circumcised. What I can ascertain is Patrick’s long time friend Sir lan McKellen gave him the nickname “Beef Stew” referring to Patrick Stewart surname name “STEWart”. When Hugh Jackman says “You will have to change your Facebook status”, Hugh meant, you better change it (update it) from circumcised to uncircumcised as though his profile would reflect that since facebook knows everything about us these days. But Patrick added “No more Beef Stew” meaning, I’ll have to also change my name (or nickname status) because he thought he knew who he was (Beef Stew) but obviously no longer does because he doesn’t even know he was circumcised so he’s not the same person he thought he was. That’s my take on it anyway.

My late husband and I met Patrick Stewart in 1989 at a Star Trek: The Next Generation convention. It was through a group called LaGrangeCon. I'll never forget this, a man in the audience tells him, he could recite Shakespeare's "To Be or Not To Be" word for word, without messing up, and saying it exactly, how it's supposed to be done by a true Shakespearien. That, was Patrick's request, that he had to do it all like that. This guy nailed it. Patrick was nonchalantly impressed. That same meeting, Michael Dorn and Gates McFadden were there as well. I use to have all 3 of their autographs on pics, but sadly lost them years ago, due to financial hardship.

I watched it. It traumatized me. I still can't stop seeing my son's breath catch in the shock of the pain. It's one of those pains so intense that you can't breath. And the woman who was doing it was so casual about it. In fact, she did it once, then had a 2nd go at it. I could not stop thinking about it. 26 years later I feel like I need to apologize to him. There was no reason for that to have ever happened. It was torture of my infant son.
