We saw him live twice in Phantom on Broadway. Have never heard anyone sing with perfect pitch and clear as a bell. I was in tears when we left the theatre !

I remember being so pleasantly surprised to see Hugh's portrayal of the Phantom. I had never seen a confident or remotely seductive Phantom before, and it's such a nice change after seeing so many bootlegs and live performances!!

It's just so cute how when she faints, the Phantom shrinks back as if he's afraid to touch her, so he just covers her and leaves her be.

I think because she is on the floor,He can't lift her without effort..that's why most Phantoms catch her as she falls.

@@annmitchell4663 most Phantoms don't catch her. Just in the West End they do, all the others production don't have the catch, even tho some actors decided to do the catch.

Starting at 3:37-the way he lingers down her arm and hand, studying them!! I've never seen another phantom (or him) do that! He's good....:) I wish he'd come back to the role :(

Yes, I'm aware I need a HughasthePhantom addiction support group meeting , stat, but I just have to say, as I watch again, as I do every so often to support my addiction, that they are most perfect pair in this role, possible, IMO. Phantom and Christine gold. He is so stunningly handsome it's ridiculous, and she looks exactly like a china doll I had sitting on my shelf as a little girl. Of course their looks are just icing on top of perfect acting and voices. ( 1:42-1:52 ??? Gah). The way his voice stops and resonates throughout the theater at the end of "be" at 3:05 makes my heart pound. His look, voice and mannerisms are like silk. He has the most elegant Phantom hands since Michael Crawford. It's an odd thing to notice but every single position he puts them in or gestures, adds to the role or moment.Hmm...wonder where I could find those meetings...

Cure Starlight Its actually one of the most convincing ones that I’ve seen. Most Christines just kinda throw themselves to the floor. Hers looked like it might actually be a faint.
