The Redsbox does not simulate microphones. It's more of a representation of cab on its own, wich is the unic thing with that.

My Redbox 5 is pretty noisy. Compared to my captor x. Not sure how to get the noise down on the Redbox

you say the redbox is not a substiture for a speaker load....are you sure? does this mean i have to have an amp load box and then the redbox connected between the amp and speaker?

Use the Redbox with digital units when going direct live. That’s where it shines!

Great explanation. I have two early RedBoxes and a Hughes & Kettner TubeMeister 36. The RedBox-Feature never convinced me. I own two VOX AC4. The sound is greeeaaat. The sound of the TubeMeister 36 is great as well. But I wanted to record their sound in electronic, not miked ways, as I am living in a main street with noise even in the night. Maybe the new RedBox will fit?

Lino Vinn with the HK 36 red box should be included in the direct out. I have a 1812 combo using direct out to a usb mixer I have no problems with tone. I mean i don't obtain that squeak sound like in this video...

the most convincing and pleasing solution is to go semi digital with the suhr reload, IR if you can afford it. The only device that comes really close to a miced cab, maybe also the new two notes captor x

For recording, I found the redbox sound from my GrandMeister 36 to be greatly improved using one of the the IR (found in the H&K Redbox page) on top of the redbox...
