The fact that the home button is paired is not for them to sell more phones, actually this is a security issue, that prevent random people to unlock any stolen iPhones, because if the button weren’t linked, it would be possible to trick the phone to unlock with a fingerprint that isn’t registered. So that’s a bad for a good, and same thing goes to the Face ID module

In my experience those replacement displays very often are of sub par quality compared to the original displays, either to cold or to warm, or have bad anti-reflection filtering, or bad anti grease coating and become scratched faster. Not sure if there is any way to get high quality displays.

@@catagris You can see even in the video that screen looks a bit off. At 10:38 Colors look off to me, and it looks weirdly pixelated. I have also had problems with 3rd party screens draining battery way faster than the original screen at similar brightness levels. Not so common though.

Yeah...apple admitted to releasing software updates that slow down older phones deliberately. They got sued for it and now put an option in the battery settings that disable this throttling of the CPU. However, they basically lied and said that it was only throttling due to poor battery performance. BS

Be sure, especially with the iPhone 6 to discharge the board after disconnecting the battery. It is common that you will blow the backlight ic if you don't. Simply hit the power button a bunch or hold it down for a few seconds. Newer iphone's aren't as much of a risk, but be careful because this will require microsoldering to repair. As far as the display showing lines, if after multiple attempts to ensure that the connectors are clean and no pins are missing, it is entirely possible for the display to be defective. Alot of it all comes to trial and error when it comes to this stuff. But with Apple making phone repairs evermore difficult, it becomes increasingly more time consuming. For instance, I had an iPhone X that needed a port replacement due to not charging, after the replacement, the phone would shut off after 3 or so minutes of use. With many tries of disconnecting, cleaning, and trying 2 other replacement ports, the issue was not present with the original port being put back in. I will be testing with different suppliers to see if they were just bad quality or ONLY OEM parts will work. Only time will tell before iPhone repairs become too costly. I see it very near, also I am a phone repair technician so take that for a grain of salt. Apple does want all the money, that much is true with new iPhone's.

fining a good supplier for aftermarket iPhone parts is a challenge for me at least. So frustrating to get junk parts not to mention stuff like replacing the screen on an iPhone X with an aftermarket screen, the screen won't work when you do the next IOS update. Thanks Apple.

@@MrTimdtoolman1 Yea, quality parts for newer iPhones. Nightmarish. I had a customer's iphone X charging port stop working. He came in, I figured oh, simple enough. May take a while but should be easy. I bought 3 ports from 3 different sellers, because I never replaced a port on an X before. The first one literly looked like someone tried to fix the connector with solder, it was awful because it was supposed to be new, probably was one someone returned and was given that after they tried to fix it. Anyway back to my point, the two other ports both did not work(two different sellers) and it would charge fine, but the phone would shut off every 2-5 minutes and restart. The only way to fix it was to use an original apple part from a part phone. Well fortunately the next day after this fiasco, I was able to buy an iphone x from someone and the port worked fine in the customers phone. Maybe bad batch but I need to test more ports to find out if it has to be apple parts or if I have to to a restore to make it recognize it without restarting

@@Madrista10Raul Here is how the structure is. Ever since apple introduced touch I'd on any apple device. That button is tied to the motherboard by apple from the factory with a $600,000 or so device that they will not sell or allow anyone but them to use to pair the devices. Once your home button breaks, if it is any of the iphone 6's and down, touch ID functionality will not work and apple will have to pair it if you want that functionality. Now for the iphone 7 and up, stopping at X when they removed the button. If the home button is damaged and stops working, a replacement button will serve no purpose other than to fill the empty hole if it was gone. The physical button on the 6's and back will still click to go home or close apps, but on the 7 and 8, the plus accordingly. The home button does not click anymore and uses haptics for the effect. The back of the button is a tiny screw securing it to the home button plate, so any movement is that plate either flexing or loose screws inside. If it ends up not working, replacement parts do not serve any purpose, you will be stuck using the assistive touch. Many people end up trying to repair their 7's, and 8's and tear the cable for the home button. Rendering it useless until you can find someone to try to repair it, using microsoldering, or get apple to do it. So as far as the replacement LCD's. Get them from a reputable seller and higher cost will almost always pay off in the quality of the screen and lower failure rate. Just transfer the original button and take great care as you do it, dont forget a little bit of heat on the front of the glass will soften the glue holding it down. I highly suggest checking out ifixit and their tutorials that they have. They explain alot very well. Just often dont mention discharging the board is all. But I try to practice it religiously to ensure any chips on a board dont fry due to not doing something as simple as holding a button down for a few seconds. Anyway, best wishes on your repairs. Take your time, that's most important. Ps. Most replacement screens dont come with a home button.

@@Madrista10Raul home button functionality should still work after a lcd replacement. Depending on the model, different things may be stopping it from working. First reseat all connections then if that doesnt work, check for damage to any button cables or missing pins on any male connector. As far as replacement lcd and weather you should just replace the glass. If you are doing the repair, replace the entire lcd and glass combined. If your lcd is fine, you can ship it off to someone to remove the old glass and place a new glass on for you, using special machine equipment. The option is always up to you, but the amount of work to replace just the glass is alot without the equipment. Also you will need some uv curing glue. Tried and true, easiest and quickest is to get a high quality screen and replace the assembly. That is how a majority of screen replacements are done.

When I'm older I'm hoping to become a electronic engineer, I've been watching videos lately but I dont have any devices to practice on since my mom is not much of a engineer so we dont have manys screws and my dad is not present in our house. I paid $300 for a broken AT&T iPhone 6s Plus 64GB in 2015 (broken digitizer, good LCD, dented housing), then purchased a new Sprint 6s Plus 16GB with a bad ESN (mint housing, mint OEM screen, finance locked), then swapped logic board from both housings and sold the dud phone for parts and got my money back for the donor housing. Since then my 6s Plus has been living it's life in a Ballistic Tough Jacket with Corning Gorilla Glass screen protector, not a scratch or dent on it. Just got a new Apple battery in 2018 for $30. Even the techs at the Apple store couldn't believe how clean it was. They had no clue I had ever been inside the phone. Glad to see others paying attention to details, when I worked as a technician for uBreakiFix I'd see all kinds of terrible attempted repairs as well as shoddy repairs from mall kiosk competition. Solid work on the 6 refurb. I actually need to get my 6 64GB re-balled pretty soon (touch-disease).
