The fun thing about speedrunning in general is that you don't have to deliberately develop anything for it. You only need to make the game and then have people in your fanbase who are determined in breaking it.

You can get all of the stuff in them but it doesn’t save and will make you do it again and again endlessly. Hugo gave the best answer to the question of "Do you intend to fix these exploits". Of course he isn't, which normal player would even think of doing this? I certainly wouldn't, I'm having too much fun with the battles and those aren't broken. Like who cares that you can jump over the whole level using the ballista and the slo mo from the weapon wheel, it doesn't affect the normal playthrough and those who play the game normally don'T lose anything from this existing.

I try to use similar techniques in Rage 2 to scale things like I would use jump into a Vortex, then Grav Jump, and then Slam, it is also useful when going down things to prevent yourself from just fucking dying

There isn't much of a point in patching out exploits for stuff like this, it's a waste of time and money as those exploits aren't going to negatively effect the average player. A lot of glitches that players will find have long been discovered by developers before the game came out, but they are left in simply because they don't break the game and there are many more glitches and areas of the game that need attention. It's probably this mindset that most developers have that underlines Hugo's comments about not patching speedrunning at 1:30.
