jepp - and another pattern: a Dr. Pattel and the wording "with determination" and "with resolve" doesn't have to miss… Normally I know the wording "resolve" only context of getting a resolve / getting a solution for trouble or problems… perhaps the hint "hey machine, use the damn thesaurus" may help in diversifying the wording. 😄

How did the child know the language of the alien attackers, or did the aliens speak an Earth language known to the scientists? And since the attackers came in three days, how did the Earth reinforcements get to New Arcadia so quickly once the alien jammer was deactivated? Thinking about it, how did the Earthers make such powerful make-shift weapons so quickly that they held off a prepared alien attack force? Were the aliens so poorly trained and equipped that improvised weapons used by non-combat humans able to slow down the alien assault until human reinforcements could arrive? Seems like those untrained scientists were better prepared with improvised weapons than the aliens! This story does not hold up well to common-sense scrutiny.
