Here's my responses ----------- "The groups of animals shown in the film succeeded each other, but it was not as if one evolved from the other." - *I haven't viewed the video closely enough to ascertain how accurate it is on this.* I did skim through and note the Dimetrodon, though. However, you are wrong in regard to; Australopithecus - Homo. That _is_ the correct ancestor-descendant group representation. Neanderthal is wrong, though (disregarding marginal hybridisation, they aren't ancestral). "Placodermi fish is not an ancestor of humans." - formally, they were considered ancestral, but recent research questions this ----------- Anyway, there are examples of correct group ancestors and wrong ones, so regardless of if it was intended to show group chronology only, or ancestors, they messed it up.

Probably because we didn’t directly evolve from monkeys. Monkeys and humans have a common ape-like ancestor. This video do not show the different branches, but a high level path of evolution. Going in detail to every branch will show that humans, monkeys and other primates have a common ancestor somewhere along the evolutionary pathway.
