While it's true that HR departments often handle policy creation and enforcement, they typically focus on human resources-related policies rather than legal matters. However, some HR professionals may have a background or expertise in law or legal compliance, which can be advantageous for drafting policies that adhere to relevant regulations and laws. Additionally, being proficient in English is indeed important for HR professionals, as clear communication is essential in drafting policies, conducting employee training, and handling various administrative tasks. Ah, I understand your question now. Yes, in a theoretical sense, after settling on string theory, one could conceivably view humanities through the lens of agreed-upon conventions or principles, such as interest, motivation, elasticity, or contract, as interpretations or frameworks for understanding human experiences and phenomena. These concepts could serve as organizing principles or lenses through which to analyze and interpret various aspects of humanities subjects. However, it's important to recognize that the nature of humanities is inherently diverse and often open to multiple interpretations and perspectives. So while such principles could provide useful frameworks, they might not fully encompass the complexity of humanities disciplines. ChatGPT 🌹

HRM has unfortunately got a poor reputation amongst some employees. For older amongst us (me included) i remember personnel departments, where you could grab a coffee with a busy personnel officer for chat. That left you feeling like personnel were there for you as well as the organisation. The HRM profession is useful in support of many management interests including the design of work, staff recruitment and local HR policy etc. I think HRM should have greater influence on the selection of managers in the recruitment process to ensure that they are a fit with organisational culture and are good people managers.

Calling your workforce human resources might be traditional, but I feel it is very outdated and shows some of the isses with HR: people are seen as just that: resources. Resources are things to be used, resourcefully you might say, but in the end this is a word that shouldnt be applied to humans. "People and organizational performance" is more or less how we call it in germany, which is more humane and fitting. Now, it is also important to not just change the words but also the treatment: the workforce is indeed if not the most valuable part of an organization. Yet so many companies, push their workers towards burnout. This is not sustainable and obviously reduces the value of a company as a whole massively. This is what is happening to so many tech companies at the moment (Google for example) since it has become obvious to the workers that they are seen as a resource. This has to change and will benefit the companies in the end.

It’s a blight. This is why we got spreadsheet doctrines that doesn’t take into account that humans make mistakes. It’s fine on paper, it’s ideal, but if it ain’t ridged enough, people are not able to follow through, thus it makes more harm than good. How do you know what goes into a product, if you don’t have any clue about the creative process? It’s like you ask me to assemble a a piece of furniture within an hour, but you yourself have never done it before, because if you had, you’d know it’ll take me a couple of hours to do. Now times that across all facets of the workplace and you’ve messed up the place to an unrecognizable disposition. It’s not that there isn’t a world where HR can be good and optimal, but we aren’t living in it. You need to know every tangent in a work environment down to the struggles of those who clean the area. You’ve to know where you’re lacking and have a good amount of empathy, to see where people are coming from. Also know there’s a human law, that if you’ve a workplace with 100 people, only 10 of them do half the total work output. Which means the bigger the company the bigger the incompetence. The executives may not know whose competent or not. Some of their piers know probably. They know. I would love nothing more, if HR was a force for good, and you as an individual whose studying HR may become that. But it has a tainted and dreaded reputation because they’re blinded by a lot of processes, and thus act in what is theoretically and ideal, but not it what is practical for fallible humans. We’re not robots. So HRM tends to be a misguided practice.
