Talk Heathen is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared toward long-form and on-going dialogue with theists & atheists about religion, theism, & secularism. Talk Heathen is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.
Talk Heathen is filmed in front of a live studio audience every week at the Freethought Library of the Atheist Community of Austin.
The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop & support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing & friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of government-religion separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists & to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.
We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

This is not a biology question. It's a sociology question. We as humans use "animals" as derogatory terms as "less than". Therefore someone who was told that he is "superior than" would never accept this distinction.

TH, Jamie and Christy, looking good, sounding great. Poor Kareem can't accept that he's an animal. I love the way Aron Ra puts it with a few succint questions. I feel like Kareem might have been one who asks 'if we come from monkeys why are there still monkeys?' One of the dumbest questions. We are monkeys! And we and those around today all came from an early monkey! Primates being the correct label. Only animals in the kingdom, with our unique ears! And fun fact, white people are much more 'primate like' than black people. Straight hair, thin lips and variety in color of hair! 😊👍💙💙💙🥰✌

Deep, deep down inside there is some trace of awareness that each one has his own personal God that conforms with what each one personally likes, which makes them happy, happy enough to not dig deep how the other personal Gods are in comparison to yours. In principle he asks "Why don't you want to have this wonderful feeling that someone is on your side, to give you hope and security?" That makes total sense for him, because before the "God saves you" bait he was persuaded that he is evil, a monster deserving eternal torfure, hopeless, meaningless, cannot have a meaning of life, cannot be good, has no morals, your sins are damning all that you love and all that descend from them for all eternity. Only with God's help you can be good, has your life meaning, are you provided with moral rules. In the moment you doubt that that what God created in his OWN image is absolute trash, you might find out that people can be nice all on their own. Just like they can be evil bastards all on their own. That all of us have BOTH sided in us, the Seven Virtues AND the Seven Deadly Sins. The trick in to try to be more on the positive side, find your personal way how to go further down the good road and keep the bad part under control. You will NEVER get rid of him (Godspeak: "We are all sinners"), be happy with a net positive, and happier when you get better. No need to challenge God, challenge yourself, It is good that perfection is unreachable, because that means it will STAY interesting. For me perfection is a nightmare. Existence is meaningless when there is nothing new that can be achieved. I am happy that perfection is reserved to God. He is the poorest guy that does not exist in this universe.

In a word - bullshit. Why do you need a deity and why is yours 'special' to any one else but you? You should read your 1st paragraph.
