Abusers commonly say things like "I told you what would happen if you didn't obey me, and that means you chose the beating that's coming to you". At some point their victims might even start believing it, too. Making consequences clear is just making a threat. It doesn't change responsibility at all. At the end of the day, there's a bad person making unreasonable demands and hitting you when you do the right thing (refuse to obey). That's 100% on them.
