You've inspired me to have another go at making eyeshadow! I tried the eyeshadow recipe in Make it Up a while ago and it didn't really work out but I'm going to try again as I got this really pretty bluey green mica that I think would work great for eyeshadow. Edit: I found the eyeshadow base I made last July and it looks and smells fine so I mixed it up with my blue green mica , pressed it and I've just swatched it on my arm and it looks beautiful!

Marie, A very inspiring video! I've always been afraid to try makeup! I do tons of skincare. But makeup seemed to difficult. After watching this video, it releaved a lot of those fears. You make it all look so simple. I'm definitely going to buy your book and give this a try! It looks like a win, win! I know you have lip products in your book too, which is exciting. Thank you for showing us a simple and easy to understand formula, that takes the fear out of trying! Jill Gross

Finally finding this/you!! I hope you are still responding to comments. Maybe I missed it, but if you are no longer including the calcium carbonate and using the silica microspheres after it's blended instead, are the rest of the base ingredients that get mixed in the blender the same? Just w/o the calcium carbonate? Also, your book suggests 2 tsps base and this suggests 1/4 tsp base... is that because of the use of micas?

@HumblebeeAndMe

I don't; mica is very unique for formulations like this. However, it's really not difficult to find ethical mica as long as you know where to shop-it's important to me to use ethical mica, too! The links for micas in section 3.1 of the free partner blog post link to Canadian and US suppliers that only sell ethically sourced micas. Happy making!
