I did this with extra virgin coconut oil and polisorbate 80, because I have a big jar that will expire on December. With 35° Celsius here in Mexico is just the right consistency. But I tried putting it in the freezer and omg, best cleansing balm ever. For my dry skin this is glorious, thank you Marie! ❤️

Do not use virgin coconut oil because it clogs the pores of the facial skin, it causes blackheads. Virgin coconut oil is good for the skin of the body, never in the face

@@nimraismail8777 I don’t use any other cleansers after using this on my face. The ingredient that turns the oil milky kinda acts as the surfactant that gives the oil an extra cleaning power. But still, we have different skin. What works for me might not work for you. So, try things out.

I'm gonna try making this with colloidal oatmeal today. I figure it'll be fine as a suspension, just shake before use, then the oatmeal will solubilize on contact with water. *Update: I had to go up to 15% on the PEG castor to get it to rinse off!

Thank you for your video! I'm studying ingredients at the moment by comparing different products' ingredient lists. I realized that a lot of brands (especially Asian brands) are using rheodol 430v (sorbeth-30 tetraoleate) as an emulsifier in cleansing oil/balm, and some people say that's more gentle to the skin compare to Tween80(polysorbate 80). Have you ever used rheodol 430v before? Also, that would be wonderful if you could share more info on the safetyness and effectiveness of different product😊

Thanks for sharing this! I've had the pleasure of owning different kinds of cleaning oils, one of which was a balm texture until warmed on the skin which meant it was easier to ship/store. Would the process be the same, just with an oil that is solid at room temp? Thanks !

I’d also love this in more of a balm texture. Curious to find out if a solid-at-room-temp oil would work or just a completely different formulation including some sort of thickener. 😊 Also still wanting to try this formulation: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZy2pauViZKFbqs

Hello & thanks for watching! I don't have any safety concerns about PEGs; they aren't natural, but natural-ness is not an indicator of safety :) Like many things we use regularly, PEGs have the potential to be harmful (like milk before it's been pasteurized, water before it's been treated, and grilled meats), but the risks are well known and extremely carefully controlled. You can learn more here: www.cosmeticsinfo.org/ :) Happy making!
