Humbled by Calls to Be Award Grace O'Malley-Kumarn the George Cross

The parents of Nottingham attack victim Grace O’Malley-Kumar say they're 'humbled' by the calls for their daughter to be awarded the George Cross. The 19-year-old died trying to save Barnaby Webber as he was stabbed in the street.
Dr Sanjoy Kumar and Dr Sinead O’Malley have also said that they hope to meet and offer their support to the family of the 14-year-old boy who was killed in the sword attack in Hainault yesterday.

I'm sorry for what the girl suffered, but, like many others, I don't agree that she should get The George Cross. That would be to give it away too easily, which would cheapen it, as I'm sure that many others would have stood by their friends too. Many others have done far more braver things, and never been thanked or recognised for it, so it would be an injustice to them to give it to others too easily. However, I think, and I am sure, that many others would agree that The George cross should have been given to the Taxi driver David Perry from Liverpool, who during a Terrorist attack at Liverpool Womens Hospital on 14 November 2021, prevented the terroist al-Swealmeen from getting inside the hospital by locking the doors of his taxi. How many lives must he have saved by this selfless act? He sustained many injuries himself. Even Boris Johnson said "it does look as though the taxi driver in question did behave with incredible presence of mind and bravery". WHY wasn't he given The George Cross? If anyone deserves The George Cross this Taxi driver does!
