Considering there is so much room in the engine compartment, surprised it would be that much work to change it out. Great job👍

Kind of hard to show what you have to do when you have 1 hand holding the camera and the other doing the work but it is a good video. Thanks for the demo

Hello there , by bending that Air conditioner aluminum pipe you might damage it and make it softer by bending it .

I swear it is just a smaller displacement version of the 4.2L found in the Trailblazer, Envoy and Bravada.

I see a lot of room to change the thermostat. The manual says to remove tire and plastic inner fender. But From your alternator removal i see it can be removed easily.

I was thinking the same thing LOL😂😭😂😭😂

If your talking about the alternator yet, removing the tire/wheel, and inner fender does help, but the metal part of the fender/inner body structure still comes down about 4 inches lower than the bolt, and you need a good extension and swivel to get on to the bolt, even then you have to adjust a few times if your swivel binds in even the slightest amount

You forgot to show how you got the bottom bolt out of the alternator

I've seen many videos. Some take off way too much and you barely took anything off. There's always a easier way. I also drive a 06 H3 Hummer. Mine has 197thousand miles. People are shocked it looks and rides as good as it does. I bought it with 67 thousand. Of course things breaks and needs replacing. But these hummers really are reliable and can easily go 300 thousand or more miles. For us DIY folks. Not hard at all. Not easy either but if you have time. I'm my opinion. You could do majority of the work your self. I'm going to be that old man who keeps same truck forever lol. Have newer vehicles but the hummer stays LOL. Just replaced rear main seal. Not myself but got that done. Next week valve cover which needs replacing. Then new shocks. Been riding on same shocks since I've had it. From car fax record says they have never been changed. So that's next on list as well. Apparently 2010 they put new heads on it. All in all. I'm pretty much going by the factory orders. 200 thousand mile regular maintenance stuff.

I now have 230,000 on mine. I had to replace the water pump a while back while we were traveling through North Carolina. The hardest part was finding a spanner wrench.

@@gabbardsbeadsandleather I rented it from autozone😕. But yeah wow you up there in miles. You just gave me even MORE ammunition when folks tell me I'm crazy for keeping my truck lol

Might gain some extra room by de-coupling that pulley, too.
