Bless you for this tutorial and the reference photos, Lisa. My elderly mother-in-law adores hummingbirds, and I plan to do a CP painting of them for her. :-)

Thanks for the reference photos, thanks to the photographer as well! :) Amazing drawing and tutorial! :) Unfortunately the Titanium White and Touch-up Texture are not for sale in Europe, I would totally buy them, I can understand your excitement about these products, they make such a huge difference!

UltramarineBlu yes, I've tried to get hold of Touch Up Texture & Titanium White also, but Jacksons (UK) have told me that Brush and Pencil "are however, working on a 2-in-1 hybrid mixture that they can send to us. So we should know more in the new year." I hope so, Jacksons suggest that I should use artist pigment in the meantime, but I'm not sure how that would work - I think I would have to mix it with oil and I just wouldn't want to risk it on a piece I've spent 30+ hours on. We'll have to keep our fingers crossed.

Love this video! Maybe I missed it but what surface are you painting/drawing on? I really admire the effect you create with the mineral spirit & polychromos. Do you know if this works well on watercolor paper? (And if not, which paper would you recommend?)
@jenniefrench13383 жыл бұрын
Do you by chance use any medium on the paper like clear gesso or Liquitex? I also noticed how much different the blacks are in the Lightfast pencils. I really love it. And thank you for the photo. Hummingbirds are my favorite bird and I can never get enough of them.

Hi Lisa! You are an amazing inspiration! I love your work! I want to re-create these hummingbirds. Can you help with the reference photo please? The link in your video description doesn't seem to redirect to the reference photo. Thanks!

For those in the UK and Europe as I believe they ship there, I found this interesting bit of Info on the Jackson Art Web site. The other two products in the Brush and Pencil system of 5 products are Coloured Pencil Touch-Up Texture and Coloured Pencil Titanium White. Unfortunately these are not available in Europe. The company is formulating a new product that is a combination of the two products and will be sending it to us sometime in 2017

You should have more subscribers ! Your draw so well ! Maybe you could try to draw some famous people, you would be able to do fantastic.

Yeah, that doesn't really work as I've found out. The celebrities I've drawn don't get any more views than my other videos :)

I can think of a couple of chanels where the artists upload their videos at light speed in 4 minutes only with music... and both have more than a million subscribers... What you do is a billion times better in every posible way! You should be the one with most subscribers, no doubt. You are amazing Lisa so keep doing what you do!

Daniel San I think this channel is more geared towards helping other artists out and creating a platform while Heather Rooney videos (pretty sure you were talking about her) make people go "wow!", but that's it. You don't learn from it and I doubt she gets asked where people could buy her art. :)
@danielsan999998 жыл бұрын
Agree 100% Ramo. I'm on Lisa's side on this. Hopefully my channel will help people learn instead of drawing them into say ''wow'' about my work. I've teached in the past for about 8 years and I loved it.

Lisa. I just subscribed. New artist. Never took a class. I started painting by accident. One day I wasn't, the next day I bought 16 pints of acrylic and 2.5 yrs. later I've over 3,000 36"x36" paintings. Abstract. This was art therapy at its finest. It took me out of a ten-year depression. -- I was searching for how to sell prints and you popped up. My techniques come accidentally. Like a leaf. I make a mistake, although the mistake looks like a leaf, so now I know how to paint leaves. To me, there are no mistakes painting abstractly. Emotional feelings point me toward where I'm heading or where my feelings have derailed. I don't go for a "look", I go by a compelling force. I work in between feeling exhilaration to non-exhilarated. You have inspired me. Thank you! JasperKIRK www.jasperkirk.gallery/
