The anecdote about the "passport" confusion perfectly illustrated the importance of cultural context. It's not just about language- it's about understanding the person.

Definitivamente un tema muy importante no solo para el ámbito de salud pública sino para muchos entes de servicio social. Gracias Dra. Diana por esta grandiosa presentación.

Great point about the dual meanings of words in different languages. It's wild how the same word can lead to completely opposite outcomes depending on the contexts.

How does it work? Is there 1 person per foreign language per hospital? Do the interpreters also have medical experience or are they only there to translate?

The example of Willie Ramirez was so sad. How is this still happening in 2024?

Frustrating that healthcare systems ignore this issue. Interpreters should be viewed as essential, like any other piece of medical equipment.
