You ,Sir are an inspiration in itself. Not only do you have a way of teaching, but also because you mention God and creation. These fish are beautiful. My husband and I are new parents to a pair of Bettas. At first we bought them simply because we love aquariums. The Guppies ate in the aquarium. The Bettas, we placed in a fish bowl. Then I wondered what all the foam was about. Now I know after watching your videos. Thanks for the education. This is fun and relaxing and exciting that we can he'll bring new life. May God bless you abundantly.

Last week i tried to breed my betta. It was a very successfull process. Now i have around 100 fry. The male is a red rosetail and the female is a blue rosetail. Can't wait to see what colour the fry would have. So excited that my first try is a success. Thanks for the tips Dexter !!!

I was never interested in keeping 🐟. But after observing your videos on betta fish I became very interested. You said I beautiful and colorful they are...and you are right. The different variations are what sparked my interest. Your remarks about causing you to appreciate Gods creation really reminded me of how I use to go out to pigeon coop and sit for hours just admiring their many different colors and feathered patterns..thinking how God really installed in these birds the genetics that would give us humans alot of enjoyment. Thanks for the excellent videos and for reminding me of how great our God is.

Hi Dexter My advice for you with egg eaters males are to setup pairs to breed simultaneously with the egg eater male. Once they other pairs spawn and have eggs i would scoop out the bad male and gently add eggs to be foster by good father. (Must have eggs of his own ). This way he is fooled to believe that all eggs are his own. I would put with solid color pair so any mix marble fry would be definitely from koi fancy male. Other method is to remove both male and female at same time leaving the eggs alone. Your water depth is sufficient for fry to survive with help from parent. Just add more floating plants with abundance of roots . Good luck my friend

Hello I got some question here, my bettas are one months old now and they are growing tails and having colors now, should I separate them? They haven't flare at each Others yet
@CrowntailHalfmoon6 жыл бұрын
Alvin Lee Hi Alvin I'm not expert but i can share my experiences for others to learn. I try to power growing fry before jarring. That's largest tank lots of live and high quality foods frozen and pellet in relation to mouth size. Small amount of water changes but regularly same temp and ph. I would observed fry as the grow. Some grow fast than others what i do is separate with size (small together and large together ) smaller ones can grow up and not bully by larger ones. I would observe the grow and behavior of the all fry in tanks. Some males will flare and wannna fight. That's ok but once u see and of fins are torn. I immediately jar all males as they start fighting after u see first torn fin. I dont know if its a hormone or blood in water that makes them aggressive after 1st torn fins. So my advice is observation and see how aggressive they appear to each other. Rule of thumb once u see and can id males and about 1inch i would jar especially if they hav a lovely color and form. Hopefully this helps. You can also websearch www.bettysplendens.com. Lots of gr8 info and articles. Good luck mate.😊

I saw another Betta breeder with a bad father, who ate the eggs, use a turkey baster to suction up the eggs as soon as they were laid. She then gave them to one of her good Dads. She added them gradually via the turkey baster and he put them in his bubble nest. The fry were completely different colours, so it was easy to tell who the parents were as they grew older.

Sir Dex, the color combinations of fancy betta fishes were a result of inbreeding. They were designed by breeders just like pure bred cats or dogs. You cannot find those colors in those combinations in the wild. But still, God is great for creating betta fishes. :-)

I have a good betta pellet food which they enjoy but I just hope that these will live started the beta hobby about 6 months ago and I've been doing the 20% water change and then at the end of the month I clean their tank everything else. I put plant food for their plant dechlorinator for their water and a little bit of aquarium salt. Also when I put in the new sponge I had good bacteria so the good bacteria cycle can continue because I don't wash the plant or the pot just the gravel and I put in fresh filter sponge when it needs to be changed
