Would have worth a mention, from 9:07 to 9:15, we can see the actual predecessor of these EMUs on main line 70: a 6 coaches push-pull stock, both the cars and the engine around 60 years old, both refurished around 20 years ago.

Budapest-Vác was the first railway line in Hungary, opened in 1846. The station building at Vác is the original, but it was enlarged and modernized. The signal box at the Nyugati station is in operation, and also Rákosrendező, Rákospalota-Újpest and Szob stations' switches are operated manually.

Hungary is famous for its narrow gauge "forest railways". Have a trip with one of those, you should expect absolutely mesmerizing views. They are on the slow and uncomfortable side, but that's not the point anyway. Maybe if you are planning on returning to Szob, i highly suggest going on a trip with the local forest railway. It's like 6 hours round, but worth every Hungarian Forints. There are more than 20 forest railways in Hungary, but most of them are far harder to reach, so this or the one in Budapest is the easiest to show.

The livery really looks like the Dutch sprinters. Budapest is a beautiful city. Been there in 1990 and loved the Jugendstil trams and metro that survived the communist regime. We (5 girls) were having a vacation on the Balaton lake and went 2 times to Budapest by train and also went to the West Station to see the building build under supervision of Eiffel. Half of the city had still grey and black houses due to the dust of cars and trucks. Want to go back when I see your footage.

Fabulous access and facilities for the disabled - quite right too! Great video as always and Indeed, this EMU's livery looks really smart and stylish and in terms of features this EMU tick all the boxes moreover, really appreciate the inclusion of the information screens as well as segregated recycling bins. Great post, in a strange sort of way I like to see the rural trains and the stations, or lack of station, it goes to the real part of the country where the locals live and eat, personally whenever I travel with my wife we prefer not seeing the tourist attractions but the real country and it’s people, we’ve found every place has its attractions, yes we go by rail I book the local area’s regional weekly pass for rail, trams and buses it entices you to use it and explore more,

In the larger cities I like to catch the suburban train or tram or metro on any random line to the last stop..then wander around the area.. have a bite to eat..and see how the locals live....usually there are no tourists and people tend to speak less English so that forces me(in a good way)to learn at least a few basic phrases in the local lingo..and the cafe/restaurant prices are generally cheaper to as you are away from the touristy city centre....

A friend of mine lives north of the City in a town served by these brand new trains. He said that they are nice to ride during the off-peak - but during rush hour, when folks are packed in like sardines, you tend not to notice how nice they look! The "open look" gets replaced by the elbow, shoulder, back, etc of the person squished in next to you! Still a really nice looking train.

Stadler are also manufacturing new trains and underground rolling stocks for England and Wales. Including the Class 231 and Class 756 Flirts for Transport for Wales, Merseyrail Class 777 Metro, Tyne and Wear Metro Class 555, new Stadler trains for Glasgow Subway and new London Underground tube trains to replace the Bakerloo Line 1972 Stocks and 1992 Stocks used on the Central Line and Waterloo & City Line. And perhaps Stadler could continue with manufacturing more new trains if they were to build a UK train manufacturing plant. But I have to say the Stadler Kiss units are well built, spacious and pretty much incredible.

I definitely advise a trip down from Deli station to Keszthely, its a splendid city, either take a dip in Lake Balaton or head to Heviz for the thermal pool, easiest to get there via Siofok, or take the scenic route on the north side of the Lake via Revfulop (a good 'beach town'), changing at Topolka onto the more rickety rackety trains (think of it like a Soviet Pacer). Alternatively check out Pecs (pronounced 'Pitch' I think), near a very good wine region, and it is a historical city (like a small Budapest with a fair bit of Ottoman influence), around a 2.5-3 hour train journey from Keleti, trains usually even have 1st class on the route, so very comfy and roomy, though usually no catering.

If you want to know where my favorite landscapes are, the answer is: in the North. The video, of course, is of good quality, because you can see the train well. I love newer trains, less old ones. You'll probably like them more than I'll do. Stadler is a guarantee of good quality, but it's the double-decker configuration that doesn't convince me. As a train driver, having to go up stairs then down then up then down and so on is a real pain when switching cabs! Plus, in commuter services some people take too long to get to the exit when there are stairs inside the coaches, but they still try to get out anyway with the doors already closing. You wouldn't believe how often people get trapped between doors doing just this! It's easier for us when passenger operations go smoothly.

Two announcements made after you boarded the train were each preceded by five chords that sounded exactly like the start of the main theme of Strauss’s Death and Transfiguration. It must be coincidence though, I can’t believe they would have picked that deliberately!

Ahh. Again the benefits of a high loading gauge. Blue and yellow; a bright sunny vibe. Pity that our British operators can’t provide interiors that give adequate space instead of maximising passenger numbers.

Maximising passenger numbers is absolutely the way to go if a lot of people are using train as the mode of transportation. As you can see in this video, not a lot of people are on this train.

Yes, the old signalbox in Nyugati is still in use, unfortunatelly they still operate the century old "Siemens" wire puller system in the Eastern half of the station. Tracks 1 to 9 have been modernized around the Millennium when the shopping mall was built. But there is no money to change the Eastern part to modern, motorized switch operation. MÁV has recently made a kind of self-ironic video about it claiming handcraft working is worth going to a gym to workout. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3fGdqh-m86joMk

Hopefully the government will look on to this. I hope european nation will offer this product to the philippines. We are dreaming on this for long time now. Pls approach our country we need something different se only always have standard gauge small doors and windows problem is always budget restriction
