Some supertasters react poorly to flavorings added to some vanilla ice creams. It's usually because of a heightened sensitivity to "butyric acid", which is a flavor found naturally in dairy, but extractions of it are often added to make things taste 'more buttery'. Butyric acid is also found in vomit, and also in baby poop (they drink a lot of milk), hence the negative associations. Molly has already mentioned how she doesn't like the taste of milk chocolate, which similarly often contains butyric acid. It's a sensitivity similar to how some people think cilantro tastes like soap.
