Crazy Neighbor and I found an AMAZING place to stealth camp for the night. The cook shack in group areas at local campgrounds make a fantastic shelter for a quick overnighter. No tent required, instant shelter, and provided we are sneaky enough no one will be the wiser. Was a bit of a close call with the police on this one. A fun thanksgiving camping adventure for the ages!

Steve, I present you with a challenge, possibly your toughest assignment yet: Tell Beatuful Wife that you're going camping for the weekend, then Stealth Camp in your own home without her catching you. Probably best advised to remove any weaponry from the house before attempting this though in case of misunderstanding...

I like how Steve accepts that if he does this enough, that he will eventually be caught. When that time comes, I hope to see the park ranger or officer enforce the spirit of the law, rather than the letter of the law. Steve doesn't litter, and nor does he do any sort of damage the area where he camps. He's not the droids that they're really looking for.

@@OldManJimmy1 If it was a cop, probably just too lazy to get out and check what was up. Must not of seen the vehicle either or they'd of for sure checked what was up. That brings up a good idea for Steve for some real stealth, camping, either with a shelter or with his vehicle somewhere where it would normally be spotted but hide it with mostly natural "camo" from grass branches leaves and stuff from the plants/trees around him, blend it into the landscape kind of thing, see if he can pull off a "hide in plain site" kind of thing. I know it's hard for him to come up with new places to "hide", why not try to hide in something that will/could be seen but people will dismiss it and go about their way.

Just have the yellow caution tape by the shack out of the view of the road/parking lot/etc. Anyone in a car isn't going to get out of the car unless they see something from it. Anyone that would be a civilian who just happened to be hiking there would only be able to see caution tape when they are committed to being out of the car, assume maintenance and no entrance, turn around and go home. Anything past that you are doing (like cooking/the fires etc) will just be written off as workers working and no suspicious calls. Out of order sign is fine, but only with the caution tape because a person could literally just stumble into this shack and peer in without being stopped by tape first sometime like in the middle of the night.
