Glad you enjoyed it Adam. It certainly can be a trade off when trying to film and hunt but patience, persistence and frustration often get you there eventually.
@bartfenech84953 жыл бұрын
Mate someone else said it, but amazing how you weave both hunters tripes together. Seeing April scratch about is hilarious. It also shows explicitly how much gear you have to carry as well. Fair due's. As many on the page will atest, you go for the rifle you fear you will miss a great photo, you go for the camera and you miss the kill shot and a full freezer. The way you srolled between the close up of the sambar, and then the distance was some of your best footage yet. It put us right there with you, bloody awesome photography. It makes you wonder, how many hunters had a quarry on film like that and then saw them run at the last minute and missed the chance lol. Brilliant.
@BoltActionProductions3 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much Bart. As you would realise there is a lot that the viewer doesn't see with only 10-15% of total footage taken that is actually used. There are many times that frustration, missed opportunities and failed chances often get the better of you while filming but I believe that if you can master this the patience you learn only helps you as a hunter. Sometimes everything falls into place but that usually isn't the norm when you are trying to self film and hunt at the same time. I got lucky this time and I can assure you that was a bonus when you are tired and wet. Always appreciate your feedback and support. Thanks mate.

Good one mate very nice video of your process and the caller seemed to keep him interested. I've used mine a couple times now and I'm reasonably impressed, ive had a spiker come in on me and slowly circle round to get my wind and just a couple weeks ago I had a big hind frozen in her tracks at 50yds and I was practically in the open!

Cheers Albert. I've usually always got a whistle of some form around my neck when I go hunting and I must admit I feel a little naked when I forget to take one. This deer caller is well worth carrying. Thanks again for the feedback mate.

G'day Ross. It all depends on the size, age and status of the Sambar but we do a variety of different processing. Great video buddy. I'm looking at starting the journey into learning how to hunt. Can you you give me an idea of the camo clothes you have (brand and details) for colder weather and what you have for warmer weather. Hopefully after we get out of lockdown I can make a start. Cheers.
@BoltActionProductions3 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate and good luck with your journey. Your question is pretty much answered by how long is a piece of string. Hunting clothing is a continual experiment and something that is always evolving. I personally don't find one brand that does it all but I can pass on some of my current likes. Summer gear I use "Cabelas made in the shade shirts" (possibly no longer available), I also like the Tusx Savanna range of shirts. Pants, I just use plain lightweight versions from any outdoor suppliers. Winter I like some of Moroka 30 tops and merino thermals. I just use waterproof pants off ebay with no particular brand. I am a big fan of Ice Breaker thermal clothing. I like the Tusx camo pattern and their hoodie top. Gear that I don't really like that has cost me a lot of coin and doesn't suit the purpose IMO. KUIU "Ultra Down" puffy jacket, to short, to noisy with far better options for a lot less money. I am not a big fan of Gaiters but like the KUIU version, I love the Lowa Ranger boots that are into their 3rd season now. I love Moroka 30's Packjacket as it is simple and works. I could ramble on with this topic for hours and as mentioned it is continually evolving and often a personal choice with everyone having their own likes and dislikes. I do talk about different gear in many of my videos. Your question really opens up Pandora's box with no simple and correct answers.

@joembarak3 жыл бұрын
@@BoltActionProductions First of all, great video, I really enjoyed it. I just had some questions regarding the sst and the eldx. In your experience is there much of a difference between the two. I am thinking of trying out the factory ammo 139 gr sst or the 150 gr eldx in 7mm08. What's your experience been like with how they hold up on impact when targeting deer. Most of my shots will be within 100 meters and most likely much closer than that, however I am looking to get into some longer range hunting at a max of 400 yards as well once I am confident enough that I can shoot accurately out to that distance. I am currently using soft points so I would like to hear your thoughts on using ballistic tips. Do they damage meat more than your average soft point or is that purely dependent on shot placement. Thank's for all the content, keep up the great work. Keen to hear what you have to say.
@BoltActionProductions3 жыл бұрын
Joe I am glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching. ELDX vs SST. Not much difference that I have seen. Comparison to a lead tipped projectile. Big difference with both the ELDX and SST opening up quicker but remember that distance and where you hit have a massive impact. The faster they are going the quicker they expand and the harder material they hit will accelerate that even more. As the distance gets longer to your target and the projectile slows they will penetrate more and expand less. In your 7-08 I would try the 139SST's for general use. Good luck and keep us posted.
