Lol saw all the korean vids ages ago... It's a Grand Touring E scooter, 4 brakes and 4 motors = less peak power required for each motor to achieve acceleration and braking demands = less heating issues and hence less inefficiency. Braking efficiency goes up and wear on pads decreases as it doesn't over heat as much compared to using separate sets of brakes. The fat wheels and weight + durable construction are meant to go at speeds for long distances on roads. It's also not easy to turn due to the long wheel base and wide wheels, requiring quite a bit of lean to pull the scooter, which makes it stable and not twitchy at high speeds (think sports car without power steering). It's like a nice motor bike. Not really meant for foot paths or tricks like jumping due to that. It's geared for a different mode of transport. The thing is, it is electric, and it can be stored in your appartment unit if you don't have a parking space, which is it's advantage over a motor bike (assuming you already have a car in a packed city appartment building). You can fold it up and tuck it away somewhere in your house rather than having to look for parking, in that way, saving you use on your car for when you need to travel further or when it's raining. (In fact, you'd probably just uber). Of course, a less overpowered scooter is more than enough to deal with city commuting, so this scooter can be viewed more as of a luxury for rich people to show off, like a new form of status symbol.

Is the breaking linked f/r or are there two levers? It would be a really good idea to have regenerative breaking on a tertiary lever or foot control to get the most out of range and reduce the mechanical break’s wearing (even though you did a great job massively overbuilding the mechanical breaks.)
@caramelzappa3 жыл бұрын
Real world regenerative braking doesn't improve range that much. It's honestly more useful in both how smooth it can make braking and how much it prolongs the life of your brake pads. I do agree that having manual control of regen braking is ideal, but it's more for comfort/control and smooth braking action than it is for range.
@robertwalsh54613 жыл бұрын
@@caramelzappa I’m no scooter expert so thanks for the reply but am a competent motorcycle rider. I am just pointing out that in an emergency maneuver, like avoiding an accident, it is optimal to have independent control over which break is breaking hardest, locking or not at all.

Interesting build. I just don't see the reason to build it with 4 motors when there is cheaper builds with only dual motors than can easily hit 20kW peak with same torque (Dual Nucular 12F with 11" Extreme X1 or other motor up to 13" from either TuneExtreme or CDZ-hubs). Only weighing in at 80 lbs~ with 72v30Ah. I know this it probably 100 times more stable, and capacity double of normal 72v system. Sounds nice, with 4 motors/controllers, but unnecessary amount of weight and money if you ask me, considering the performance you get☺
