Every time I hear this song, or think of Hunters & Collectors, I always think of the 4 times I have been to Australia. 1st time was as a Youth Exchange Student when I just finished High School, and then 3 times afterwards. I had the pleasure of being in Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra. I love this song, and any Aussie tunes... makes me think of my many memories, and my longing to go back to such a wonderful, laid back country. LOVE YOU HUNTERS & COLLECTORS & AUSTRALIA.

"True Tears Of Joy" I just love the lyrics Come on confess your confusion Spread it around They trickle down your cheeks tears fall Like seed on barren ground Your thoughts are scattered Like paper everywhere Tiny pieces of laughter and despair But you cry true tears of joy Passion is your weakness But you feed it everyday Like a moth to the naked falme You just can't keep away You twist the truth, then you turn the other cheek Everybody knows its just salvation that you seek And you cry true tears of joy oh you cry true tears of joy oh yeah It flickers on your face I can see it in your eyes I knew you for a moment So don't be so surprised Its only pleasure that you can't resist But say one word of truth And I'll see you cry true tears of joy Oh you cry true tears of joy Yeah you cry true tears of joy Oh you cry true tears of joy Oh yeah Tears of joy

I think, as Australians, we're only just really beginning to understand how amazing our music industry is (and was). We have always seen ourselves as second-rate, and allowed ourselves to be seen that way, but BOY, is that changing. Finally! We see how great our talent is, and it IS great! This song is amazing! As so much of what our country produces IS amazing, and perhaps...FINALLY! We are starting to appreciate that. FINALLY! ...such a beautiful song. xx oo

1000% correct. How many legendary acts/artists have we produced throughout the decades? The Easybeats, The Seekers, AC/DC, Olivia Newton-John, Little River Band, Men at Work, Midnight Oil, INXS, Icehouse, Crowded House, Sherbet, Skyhooks, Cold Chisel, Australian Crawl, Hunters and Collectors, John Farnham, The Divinyls, Pseudo Echo, silverchair, Savage Garden, Jet... we have produced such an abundance of class musicians and it something that we as Australians should be more than proud of.

My parents emigrated from England to NZ in 1974. Had they not, I would not have been born and would have missed NZ and Australian music. I'm so glad I didn't. We might rile each other from time to time but we are cousins, you are part of me and I love you all.

What a great, mellow song! Totally perfect. I've got to get to know the Hunters & Collectors. They have a similar feeling to Crowded House and the Finn brothers, but of course they have their own thing going on and it's awesome. The bass is so cool and relaxed. Grooooooooovy bass! And his voice is incredible, it really is. As usual, the bands that are setting stunning poetry to amazing music are NEVER heard on the radio. I wish I could turn on the radio and hear this kind of music.
