Naturally, because they started out playing in pubs and such. Where they had to be good at entertaining the patrons, live, or the managers/owners of the pubs wouldn't ask them to return. And the crowds would certainly BOOOOO them off stage if they were no good. That's why Australia spawned some of the best live talent in the world, back in the 70's and 80's, out of the pub scene.
