Australia has produced more great bands per capita than any other country. A lot of it might not have been heard around the world, but that's their loss. We're lucky!

I fell in love with someone like this once. I'm older now, and glad to never be that vulnerable or foolish. Falling deep in love like that is the driving force that creates babies. Then reality happens. The greatest gift in life I feel now is seeing that baby grow up and fall in love with a person who loves them in return. The circle of life.

As an American I find this stuff really fascinating, especially the way it mixes forms of western music across ethnic and geographical barriers,I don't think any us rock combines AOR,Southern Rock,Countrt Music,Reggae,Soul Music,Heartland Rock, and elements from New Wave or Prog like this stuff does so casually, plus the elements from British and European Art Rock very casually dispersed with Country to begin with. Hope that's not too pretentious.

Naturally, because they started out playing in pubs and such. Where they had to be good at entertaining the patrons, live, or the managers/owners of the pubs wouldn't ask them to return. And the crowds would certainly BOOOOO them off stage if they were no good. That's why Australia spawned some of the best live talent in the world, back in the 70's and 80's, out of the pub scene. I'd like to also add The Angels to that list. R.I.P Doc ❤ He certainly knew how to entertain the masses.

Moved to NYC, raised two kids, and going out to a show today means seeing Emo Hip-Hop (yes, it's a thing, try BONES) , or David Byrne with my kids. But at least twice a year I get to rent a car and the Aussie rock comes out - and it never ever feels tired. How do we decide what is the greatest song written and recorded by an Australian artist or band? This is inevitably subjective, but one thing we can determine is how often a song has been covered or performed by artists who are excellent songwriters in their own right. By that benchmark, this song has a strong claim to being Australia's best.

why did they let this beautiful song be massacred by that insurance ad? Hunters, Hoodoo’s, Kelly, Cave. Simply the best live entertainment on Earth. What a great song. There is so much great Aussie music from this era. Love it, love it, love it.

I think I saw their last ever concert! Even if I didn't , this is one of the most strangely beautiful songs .

Was blessed to see them perform live, at some Sidney footie club, mid 90s. Life moved on, but my god, that song, those memories!

He was a good runner when young, under 4mins for 1500m & mid 14's for 5000m.... thief wouldn't have a hope in hell of catching him.
