Man, this makes me miss my EJ8 Civic coupe with a JDM D15B block with a D16Z6 head, with a JDM Del Sol Si short geared trans with LSD that I put an eBay 63 trim turbo with a set of DSM 440cc injectors, a Cometic MLS head gasket, ARP head studs (just for added protection), and I put a P28 ECU in it that I socketed and chipped with a Xenocron kit. Chris Harris burned a basemap onto the chip and that car ran GREAT on it...and hauled ASS on 10 psi. Even on 8 psi I was smoking FBO WRXs and modified Mazdaspeed 3s at a hand drop drag event...and that was on really hard 205/40/17 Chinese tires. When I swapped to a B18B1 with a DA9 GSR trans I sold the D15B (which was rebuilt, but only to stock specs with stock internals), and he swapped it into his EG coupe with a .48 AR Ford Thunderbird T3 and it was really powerful. He could keep up with my turbo B18B1 (with very similar mods but a much bigger turbo). Still, that single cam lasted over 22,000 miles with me beating the hell out of it and it never missed a beat...neither did that eBay turbo.

I had one of those internally gated turbos. Wasn't a 50 trim it was a t28 and I had it setup just like you with the rod backed all the way off even and I had to port the hole in the waste gate so it would quit creeping. Spool was still insane. Full boost by 3300rpm

But if a K swap is more economical, I may just do that. It's just more fabrication and wrench work than I really want to do being in my 50's now.

Nice set-up. Don't see to many Honda builds with internal wastegate turbos. The waste gate must be a 8 -10 psi spring internally. Alot cleaner set up if you dont mind not having external wastegate and dump pipe. Great Video!

The rod that goes to the gate would have to be lengthened or extended. That will make less pressure to open.
