Hunting EVERY Shiny Starter - Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire

As part of my Gen 3 Shiny Living Dex, I decided to hunt another set of the Hoenn Starters in Ruby and Sapphire. These are some of the quickest and funnest full odds hunts you can do so if you haven't tried them yet, I highly recommend you do despite the Poochyena possibility.
Treecko after 20,550 resets
Mudkip after 21,730 resets
Torchic after 10,280 resets
That gives me an average of 17,520 which is terrible but these are really quick resets so it doesn't matter too much.
These will be staying as Grovyle, Combusken and Marshtomp for my living dex.

Right now working on my first ever Ruby DTQ and currently at 2728 SR for Torchic with one Gameboy. Its a little awkward since I don’t have a capture card so I got my photography camera pointed straight at my Gameboy but hopefully that adds some charm lol. I started a DTQ on dec 14 and yesterday I hit my first shiny pooch at 3319 resets and I though it was the funniest thing because I was more worried that I was going to get into the 10k resets before I would see anything shine! congrats on your 3 starters and can't wait to see what you get in 2023!

@@redemption5763 bro shiny girantina in pearl holds a special place essentially I had at the time while I was unaware of it a fake Pokémon cartridge one of those from China however it shouldn't have had any boosted odds since this was my first shiny after a few other short hunted hunts and a full gameplay story anyway that aside so I was sitting and watching a yt video idk which on my laptop while soft resetting it had been a couple hundred soft resets but I tried to do a point at the screen and say Now in Danish (since I'm from Denmark) so I said now or Nu in Danish while pointing at the screen i did that twice and I shit you not on the second try it was shiny my reaction as a 10-11 year old kid was absolutely insane and I still hold that as my luckiest moment ever happend to me

I always love seeing the hunts for starters in these games. I bred for all of them in Sword and Shield, but I'm planning on SRing for them in the original Ruby/Sapphire myself in the future. Congrats on the second batch of Shiny Starters, Sonikks! I think putting your Gen 3 Shiny Living Dex in parts would be pretty cool, personally. I was thinking, since you said you're close to being 25% done in your progress and you mentioned things in like a Part 1-4 kinda format, maybe it'd be cool to do the overall compliations in 4 parts, as you progress from 25% complete, to 50%, and then on. It's really up to you and depends on you wanna go about compiling everything, but that's just a potential idea I got based on what you said in this video. @@damianrogowski5519 I'm hunting on my 3DS which isn't something you can do normally without Homebrew. On that note, I used Homebrew software to inject the event into my save file. It's still possible for me to transfer it to the latest games and I would still consider it legit

Got Emerald for Christmas & gonna do soft reset for shiny starter too xD only thing is my DS is old and it dont soft reset with the 4 buttons needed so have to turn DS on & off with power button instead.

Hi my man, i want to start to shiny hunt in Ruby, and i was wondering... does a dry internal battery influence in any way shape or form the hunt? You can't do reset hunts in Ruby and Sapphire without a working battery. The RNG won't be random. You'll need to replace it if you want to hunt on them. Good luck 🍀

As far as I'm aware if you hit a shiny Pooch there's no way your starter will be shiny as only one of the two can be determined as shiny. Also in case anyone needs salt rubbed in the wound, hitting a shiny Pooch means you were just a handful of frames away from a shiny starter, which means every shiny Pooch you get would've a shiny starter a few frames later :)

I feel your pain on an insane scale; I went for the shiny chimchar in bdsp and holy what a hunt that was. I have 3 switches so it wasn’t as bad but I went to a total of 9996 chimchars seen with a total of 5 shiny starlys in that time and finally got it 😅

I did this for Shiny Treeko on Ruby half a year ago. I got lucky and never came across an uncatchable poochyena. The treeko was also modest nature :D I was so happy since I care about natures. That ruby run accidentally became a 5 shiny run. I got a random shiny spinda and while searching for a shiny Zangoose, got 2 Seedots and a Swablu. The Swablu one in particular was about 30,100 encounters, on a single game, so I haven't had any desire to shiny hunt for about 4 months now as this was 167 hours or 7 days not including sleep. I think the number 30,100 or 30,000 will always have significant value to me after this. My first shiny hunt ever was Regice on Emerald... I tried on and off for 10 years before I decided to look up why it's not happening. Darn broken RNG. Now, I RNG abuse as revenge >.>
