I am really enjoying your sea shell adventures without having to breathe in the Florida humidity. Lived in Michigan & Ohio for too many years to enjoy the Humidity. Recently was in Naples, caring for my elderly parents, now in Northern California @4,000 ft...not much humidity here. . Caring for remaining elderly parent. Grey squirrels, varieties of bird summer v.s. winter; deer, black bear, coyote & skunks, rats, mice... usual Forest critters; none with hard, colorful 🐚 shells, however. Spring is blooming, pollen in the air & on the vehicles... yep, not much humidity! Not rain, either, in our drought (not-filled) waters. May you enjoy your day!

A fairly big horse conch (tan/orange about 4-5 inches long), and tons of alphabet cones (one was very big at 2 d 1.5 inches) and the colors were just so amazing. Tons of pink and orange shells there. I think the colors change some based on the type of algae and other things they're eating. Anyway, bunch of other great ones too. Wow those were some great finds! Those big shark eyes and the horse conchs were amazing! I do think you have to get at like 2-3 in the morning to be the absolutely first one out. I've been to the beach at 3 in the morning before (as you've said I am one of those loons haha) and I only ever start to see other people after around 4 AM. Admittedly, that was during the off season but I don't think too many people go at that time anyway. Also, that big shark eye has some discoloration I think due to it being buried in anoxic sand/mud. This happens due to low oxygen levels and it's cool to see how that black was implemented in the growth of the shell! Thanks for sharing, hope you're doing well!

I have only found a handful of those big, fat shark eyes and I just love them. To find 2 in one way was outstanding. I wish I liked the night shelling more. I wish everyday at the beach could be like this, but so fortunate to have been able to see what the storm had left behind. Thanks so much for coming along with me!

Those absolutely GORGEOUS CALICO SCALLOPS! Just beautiful! I was about to say that it was a bummer that all of them were alive at the moment, but boy those birds took care of that real quick! 😂😂😂

Just discovered your channel, love it!! In Ca. we don't have a fraction of the beach shells that you have! I wonder why that is?

We are super spoiled and the mollusks and snails like our warm waters. Plus our beaches have a gentle slope so the shells can make their way onto the beach.

Thank you for IDing the shells. We are only here for a couple of days. Went to Tarpon Bay as it had just opened. Mostly, clam and scallop shells. We have one more day to shell, we are in LaBelle, if you see this and have a suggestion of which beach might be good, I would be grateful. Take care and thanks

If you don't mind the drive, you might want to try Tigertail down in Marco. I would also say Fort Myers Beach but the parking is still little funky. You can probably get parking if you get there early!
