French Girly here ! I really like to see the vision of the French Girl and the classic wrap dress reinvented by people ! I think the princess seams are a good choice ! If I may: one of the appreciated aspect of the wrap dress is the natural cleverage it gives (I think this is the "daring"/ sexy touch of a classic and simple dress that french women likes). The lapel gives to your design a vintage aspect I really like but I think it could look even more French Girl with a bit more cleverage. Can't wait to see the new pattern and the evolution of this one ! Love !

Merci for your point of view and totally agreed! It needs more cleavage ☺️ I am working on that ✍️

I also vote for more cleavage. I´m loving the design so far!

This might be a bit of a weird question, but where does the pronunciation of lapel as lay-pel come from? I have a degree in linguistics and am always interested in these kinds of variations :D I've had a look at several dictionaries but only found the other pronunciation you used (/ləˈpel/). Sorry if this is too far from the topic of the video; you, of course, don't have to reply :)

Haha I love this. I honestly have no idea! It’s just me not being a native speaker probably! It’s most definitely ləˈpɛl and I just made the other one up 😝

What do you use to draw your patterns?! I’ve been looking for something like that! Thanks so much, also your hair looks beautiful!

Do you mean the paper or any of my tools? I use a craft paper roll from Amazon. And thanks for the compliment ☺️🦋

Hi! I love the way you walk us through the entire process of designing, also I love your style so much❤️ I had a question, I am an avid crocheter and I want to crochet garments that fit well and look professional, do you think using sewing patterns for shaping crochet garments be a good idea? Do you have any experience of crocheting?
@ThrillsandStitches
@ThrillsandStitches Жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you so much that's very kind ☺️ I have no experience with crocheting unfortunately (although I'd love to learn it!). However, I do feel like if you use a pattern and manage to crochet individual pieces that correspond with pattern pieces, you should be able to join them in the according places and have something that works? So if I'd have to guess, I would say yes!

I’ve actually been taking a sewing class, which is really just to help me be less scared of my sewing machine abd more comfortable making abd rectifying mistakes, so maybe I could tackle a dress soon!

I also really like these romantic styles of dresses, but I much prefer the classic simple look. Puff sleeves and ruffles are on everything at the moment and each to their own but I reeeaally don’t like them! So I’m excited to make these things I like without the bits I don’t like as much

I love the potential for customisation in the bodice! I always need to adjust the bodice of patterns anyway. I am picturing this dress in black with white accents. Do you think the pattern could be used to make a knit version, perhaps by sizing down? Love the design!😊
@ThrillsandStitches

Glad to hear you like it! I think it could work in a knit! Depends on how the pattern continues to evolve ☺️

I love a good wrap dress! I think leave the fitting to the maker then people with larger chests will have more fabric to work with as wrap dresses can be quite revealing if they’re designed for people with a smaller bust. I can’t wait for the next pattern to drop. I’m currently shopping for dress pattern to make my own wedding dress and I think this beauty could be a strong contender! Always love your videos and nice to see more behind your design process ☺️

Thank you so much, feel honoured that you consider one of my patterns for your wedding dress! 👰‍♀️ Agreed to to fitting approach, I hope I can find the sweet spot where there's a little more cleavage showing but still enough fabric for people with bigger busts :)
