+David Swick I prefer to show the real, The good, the Bad and the Ugly. No such thing as every bike starts perfect every time, especially if the kicker did not do the mechanic's himself, which in this case I did not and as with most mechanic's, they do as little as possible and charge as much as possible.

Yes, it takes a real man to post his failure simply because he loves his motorcycle so much. I have never been able to master the Enfield kick-starting procedure, so I know how frustrating it can be. Thankfully I have put those shitty bikes behind me and ride a self-starting Harley.

Great lookin bike, I’m really wanting to do a Frankenstein bike parts from 1954, 1957 and 1980 because those were the years me and my parents were born. It’d be a family tribute bike that I think would be such a fun project to do before my parents pass away. They’re both battling cancer at the moment and I think it’d be such a great thing for all of us to create a vision and see it all come together. Great bike! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼

Been there. Once got stuck at gas station for about 30 minutes trying to kick my FX to life; of course I flooded it, used some salty language and then, quite suddenly, it roared to life. This happened during a hot and humid July evening. Normally, though, 3 or 4 kicks and things were shaking and thumping. Life is good.

+ russ bonnett that depends on what country your from. The war as far as an actual declaration of war, did not start with the United States until after the bombing of Pearl Harbor December 7th 1941. The US declared war n Japan the next day and shortly thereafter Germany declared war on the USA. That said, the USA had been sending everything but men to Europe to air in their war, without serial numbers, since 1938.

Most excellent machine, I absolutely dig it. What are some differences been a knucklehead trans and a panhead trans? Thanks from seattle
@HuntingHarleys9 жыл бұрын
D Nelski There are three ways to look at this. 1936 to 1964 transmission's will bolt up behind any year Big Twin motor from those years with the only possible alteration being the transmission lid needing to be changed between a foot shift to hand shift model. The STYLE of the transmission case with little alteration was used from 1936 to 1954, well into the Panhead era. Then, for the purist, the guy who has to have the right trans, right frame and right motor combination, EVERY year was a tiny bit different in some way.

As I understand, a "Bob Job" (bobber) was stock frame with bobbed fenders and all other non-essential appurtenences removed for a very spartan machine. Bobbers were originally intended for hill climb competitions, but ended being cool looking road scoots. When the bobbers got frames raked, they then became "Chop Jobs" (choppers), since the frames needed to be cut and rewelded in order to achieve the intended rake of the front forks. You have a raked frame. Looks to me that you have a chopper, not a bobber. I know, most people assume choppers have long super extended front forks, but not all choppers are that radical.
@HuntingHarleys5 жыл бұрын
Some time after I made this video. I found some documentation , as in a magazine article, detailed how to properly chop your motorcycle. Then it showed how they and where to, cut your fenders to properly chop it. Dated roughly 1953 or 54 if I recall and I suspect somewhere on the channel as a video. I am familiar with the early cut downs. These were what you referenced as "bobbers". They were popular around 1925-26 up to the mid 30s. When exactly bobber 1st started in terminology, year wise, I cannot say. However, the early look of mid 30's through late 40's, people called them bobber's, or least the old school guys who schooled me did, west coast San Fernando Valley. So, basically, both terms are probably far older then we realized.
