These sure are ramping up! Just as with part 10, I followed your challenge to give it a go by myself, and I think I managed something pretty close. In fact, now that I look closely at your model it seems I overshoot, since I made mine as closed to the photo as possible, including the 5 semi-circular holes in the blade and those fancy hooks on the hand guard (which I don't think I got 100% right, but I did manage something reasonably close). I managed to model the notches on top of the knife and it looks great with no artifacts but the topology is quite bad (lots of triangles, poles and bad edge flow)... but it looks good. My question is how acceptable is bad topology in the industry even if the model looks good? Perhaps a good idea for a tutorial would be to give us a complex model that we all try and you can correct/comment on various versions of the model that we send you. This is the best series on blender modelling, love your work Grant!

Great tutorials as always Grant, one question about the mirror I couldn't quite figure out even after fiddling around with it. My viewport and object orientation (looked at the xyz gizmo), origin and 3d cursor was pretty much identical to yours but when I used the mirror modifier I actually had to tick the Z axis for the same effect, the Y axis was giving me an upside down reflection of the mesh on the same spot and I couldn't figure out why.
