I was about 20 when we went spotlighting on my mates farm, I was using a ruger 10/22 with Nikko sterling 4x32 scope. We went round in one paddock for an hour and a half talking out 107 rabbits, 3 foxes, and 5 feral cats. We had to go as we ran out of ammo. I spent 2 years in Aus on a military exchange in the late 80's. Did some diving at Burrendong Dam at Stuart Town, NSW. Stayed in the Iron Bark Hotel and met some farmers who shot their own rabbits. They fired 22 rimfires above the rabbit's heads which caused them to 'freeze' and they caught them by hand. To be sold later and killed when required. Went gold mining too, found about $50s worth

I’ve watched a few different pest control channels now, and in my opinion, you are the best, Hands Down. Almost all of the ones I’ve watched have a few good, some great shots, but tend to have to shoot at same animal several times before dispatched. I’m not sure I’ve ever even seen you have to shoot more than twice at a critter! Only channel I saw with an expert marksman was from a helicopter shooting a 308. Unbelievable skill on that guy and the pilot was great too. I would put that guy in same category as you. EXPERT!! 😂😂😂

Awesome shooting Rod. That right there you are using is an incredible bit of kit. Numbers are a bit like they used to be on the Nullarbor . I used to go out and get up to 80 pair a night and sell them to the local rabbit buyer Ted Gerovitch who used to run a couple of full time trappers. All the rabbits a couple of thousand or so used to go to Perth for the meat supply.
