Awesome podcast and love the factor that you guys are located in Woodland Washington and still big and serious compared to most of the guys in our area. That are giving you sish about shooting them in the chest. Obviously never hunted Washington State we're seeing 10 yards is the equivalent of seeing 100 anywhere else in the country. And the fact that you guys are getting Roosevelt's of a lifetime almost every year is hands-down impressive

The calling/going after them in there bed is spot on. I had at least 10 bulls talking last year and the two that stayed put and made it easy to get in close were both bedded down in their "living room". Every other bull would scream but slowly move off with their cows rather than come in or hang up.

I skipped bow this yr.. Im hunting elk with a 300 blackout this yr.. Yes, its been done. 150g bullet going 1700fps will drop an elk where its stands. If you can kill a bull with a pointy stick at 60 yards then a 300 blackout will work beautifully. Shot placement. ; )

Antler color based on tree species rubbed is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Antlers would only have areas of dark color if that was the case, not uniform, dark horns.

VICSKIM949 ~ It’s common consensus that antler color on elk is probably a combination of genetics and the trees that elk rub on. It’s an observed fact that elk that rub on certain trees have darker colored antlers than elk that rub on other trees.
