That top mounted picatinny on the original stock is to allow for a stronger cheek weld. You just need to mount a 1913 compatible cheek rest to your face by bolting it into your cheek bone.

I have a GSG 16 and it runs really well. I use CCI Mini Mag 40 grain CPRN or CPHP and it’s great. It’s a super fun rifle. Recommend the 220 round drum mag (legal as there are no restrictions on rimfire ahmmunition). Going to get some 3D printed parts :)

Oh man I love my Gsg-16. It will get less reliable, that's when you know when to clean it! Kinda a pain to clean imo. (Video idea?) Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Love shooting it. Gonna get an Amazon special optic for it.

The stock picatinny is so you can mount an adjustable cheek pad!

The GSG 5 gen 1 is still the best version of the GSG line. They’ve cheapened up from the gen 2 & now to the 16. The gen 1 has a lot of medal parts in & ext. heavier & more reliable. Or you can just buy Walther H&K MP5 22lr.

jesse steele you’ve probably already found the answer, but yes it’s just an air soft stock for about $35. Some modification for fit and finish, but other than that not really.

@@shoryukenpower Its a real easy fix so i am going to remain slap happy. It was a little disappointing that it broke and i wont bother getting a new one from GSG as it is so easy to fix plus it will add a small custom look. Amazing gun purpose built.

I wanna slap mine too but I'm not super handy.. if I broke it I dunno if I'd be capable of welding another knob on or something lol Or I read sometimes the plastic part where the handle rubs against the notch can also wear down?
