I can recall being at the 2003 semi final when the cat’s mauled tipp in the 2nd half & as tipp fans were streaming out of the stands midway through the 2nd half, ecstatic Kilkenny fans were shouting towards the stewards “ don’t let them out, lock the fuckers in & make them watch it” . Worst day of your life? A lot of teams suffered similar hidings to Kilkenny over the past 20 years or so, which is to their eternal credit, but please accept that your team are only made up of human beings after all, like all the rest and are as succeptible to a heavy beating on any given day like everyone else. I think though what’s really bugging you is that it’s only tipp that have been capable of handing ye a lesson over the past 10 years or so, and to compound matters, in 3 all Ireland finals too. That said, I doubt their supporters on either of those 3 days shouted to the stewards to lock ye in and make ye watch, although I have actually heard them shouting much worse

@heffo675 жыл бұрын
Couldn't disagree with you more. It's been the best development in the hurling championship in my lifetime. Look at Carlow, they got 4 outings against the top Leinster teams, in the previous system it would have taken 4 years at least to get that experience. Because of the round robin system every team, in both provinces, were under at least some pressure at some point during this year's championship and some were under serious pressure. Some folded, some rose above it. The more top class matches the better. I go to all of Tipperary's matches. 8 championship days out this year, I wish there were 18.

liam keane its not going to be scrapped 709 000 went to the championship the first year and 680000 last year which although lower its only because they were no replays,the average attendance actually increased.Under the old system it was between 400 and 600 000. Of course the fact that kilkenny dominance has ended would have an affect on attendances,but itsmore games and more regular schedule,
