This is my favorite on the album. Breeg is the other one. This one has some Bruce solo material vibe too. The guitar melody and groove from 4:28 is absolutely classic vintage Maiden. The drumming is excellent. As usual, as you also noted, the imagery of the lyrics is top notch. Sometimes I feel that the signature Harris style intros could be left off, but not on this one.

Yesterdays reaction was something else man. Never seen such an emotional response before. This one is a fucking killer song. I remember thinking the solo was strange when I was younger but I think the contrast between the two of them is unreal. The main riff of this song is devastating! You have a really really solid song to close the album with. Not sure what you will think of it, but it does have a massive reputation. Loving the reactions as always, Hurm! Can’t wait for more.

Another great Nicko track! His drums really shine on this album. Bruce sounds great on this one! It almost sounds like it could be a Dio song! For me this is the first album by these guys since Seventh Son that feels like a complete album. It feels like all the songs belong here! It doesn’t just feel like a collection of random songs like say Dance of Death does. This isn’t quite a concept album but it gets close!

In the beginning I always considered this song one of the less stronger songs on this album. But nowadays I think it 's one of the best. Nice to see you smile again. My son and me are smiling too, the whole week because we are going to two Maiden concerts next year Ziggo Dome Amsterdam and Antwerp Belgium.

Concerning the guitar solo: we do have one full minute of solos in this song, Adrian from 5:14-5:52 and Dave from 5:52-6:13 (in the original song), with Adrian's strings bending to the absolute limits and hitting stratospheric pitches!

Damn it's good to see you seem more positive now, Maiden can always cheer anybody up I guess. Also, this song definitely grew on me, at first I thought it was okay, but now I freaking love it, especially the drums that sound awesome and those riffs are so catchy yet depressing. 🤟

Hey Hurm. This is really a hidden gem and this song is top 3. It’s a song that return I return to. The guitar solos were good but if I have one beef against my all time favorite band - they don’t shred enough in songs that by their tone demand it.

My favorite song on the album. Everything is on point and a 10, save for it does lack a solo that is worthy of the rest of the song. It doesn't ruin the song by any means but prevents it from being almost perfect. :) I'm nit picking I know. ;)

No surprise - it's one of Adrian Smith's contributions... w/ Harris and Dickinson adding their bits and lyrics. Great song 🤘🤘 Strange how the B-side of the album is actually better than the A-side.
@AdhamMGhaly

Totally agree. Breeg, Lord of Light, Legacy, and Greater Good of God are waaaaaay better than the rest. Strangely, the A-side ones are the ones that get all the hype.

@@AdhamMGhaly Usually, A-sides are the best songs on albums, and B-sides are the filler songs... Nirvana's 'Nevermind'... Pearl Jam's 'Ten'... Metallica's 'black' album... Ozzy Osbourne's 'Blizzard of Ozz'... are perfect examples of that.

Really love your channel and as a life long fan of Maiden there is something you should know. Bruce Dickinson is Gnostic and just about every song he writes has a double meaning and if you were Gnostic you would really see something else in his lyrics then what is presented. Bruce has more of a "I am God" mentality and there is a lot of freedom from this world vibe.

Not high on the list for most Maiden fans, but a top 10 for me, as is the superb closer coming next. I think only Powerslave & Rime are better as the last 2 songs of a Maiden album. And if you stretch the number of closing songs to 4, nothing equals Breeg + FTGGOG + LOL + Legacy.
@AdhamMGhaly
@AdhamMGhaly 2 жыл бұрын
I find your comment really interesting. I wouldn't say that this album has the best 2-songs end sequence. I gave it lots of thought and actually found it impossible to pick a favorite among this pair, the Powerslave pair, the Final Frontier pair, or the Senjutsu pair. But yeah I totally agree, if we extend to 4 songs AMOLAD wins all the way.
@talismanmia2537
@talismanmia2537 2 жыл бұрын
@@AdhamMGhaly Hell on Earth has become my favorite Maiden song, so if Harris had cut a few minutes of repetition out of the 1st half of Parchment, I would probably give Senjutsu the nod. On Final Frontier, if you swapped Talisman with Man Who Would Be King, then that would deserve some consideration as well.
@AdhamMGhaly
@AdhamMGhaly 2 жыл бұрын
@@talismanmia2537 I can easily see your appreciation for the Talisman from your nickname :D The Talisman was the first instantly loveable song for me from The Final Frontier, but I grew to love the whole album which is I believe contains ZERO filler songs. The whole thing is just perfect from start to finish. I appreciate Maiden's long tracks. So I don't have any issue either with The Parchment or with The Man who would be King which I believe is a top-notch progressive music journey.
